Boutique Hotel H10 Big Sur - Adults Only

Just back from a weeks stay with four male friends. We go to Tenerife as a group and normally stay at The Bitacora. We booked our single rooms direct. I opted for a sea view panoramic room which was on the top floor. Originally going for B and B was surprised to find evening meal only €30 for the week. Check in was smooth and delighted to find a bottle cava. Room and bathroom not the biggest but very nice. I actually had a bath which delighted me. View from the balcony stunning. Breakfast the next morning very nice. All the usual hot and cold options with a grill station for omelette etc. Evening meal excellent. Lots of hot and cold options. Various meats and fish at grill station and also pasta. Small but adequate pool and no problem with sun beds. Very good water based fitness classes. Small but nice sun bathing area on roof. Bar reasonably priced and good entertainment. My only criticism is show finished 1045pm and it would have been nice to have music up to the midnight closure. Nice touch was gifts every day , bottles wine, hand cream etc. Must mention free a la carte meal which was excellent. All staff were excellent so won’t single anyone out. Short walk into the port and €7 taxi ride into PDLA. Over all an excellent, smaller adult only hotel that will certainly get my custom again.

Going to be very honest with this review. First the reception staff are lovely and it’s a beautiful reception area as you walk in. So this hotel is definitely for 60+ no atmosphere very boring the evening entertainment is poor no buzz about the place; felt like an old peoples home. The food is actually terrible the live cooking is under staffed it had two members of staff on in the evening and you just stand waiting for ages! The buffet section is very small with awful choice such as oxtail, fish tikka curry or Brussels sprouts! Sun beds and day beds round the pool people just put the towels on them and go out for the day so no beds are free just covered with a towel! It’s really not great much nicer places to go not worth the money at all. Sorry for not a great review but it’s true.

My wife bought us a stay here as a surprise for my 40th, literally just got home. And thoroughly enjoyed the week. Never been to Tenerife before and it was spot on. The hotel was brilliant. Food was sound, we had breakfast and an evening meal, plenty of variety and chefs cooking fresh if you don’t fancy the buffet. We did at first think the hotel might have been aimed towards folk a bit older and wouldn’t quite suit us but not at all. It was a really nice steady break. We didn’t have a sea view but I don’t particularly see the appeal it’s not particularly unsightly looking out over the other side of the hotel, I still enjoyed a morning cuppa on the balcony. We ate in almost every day and wandered off as far as Playa de las Américas a few times and on the other days either had a few hours around the pool or had a short walk and lounged about on the beach popping into small bars and restaurants for a drink and something to snack on. I was a bit dubious about using the wrist band to “charge our bill to the room” but was pleasantly surprised when I paid this morning we had barely spent over £100 and that was having a few drinks with our meals every day and plenty through the day/evening when we stayed in the hotel grounds. The cleaners were spot on, room was blitzed everyday. Staff were great. The rooftop chill out area was great. A really nice and easy stay. I’ll definitely be looking to make a week there once a year. And also looking to find a family hotel so we can go to Tenerife again with our three lads. I have seen some folk complaining about the food but honestly i couldn’t knock it. There was plenty of variety it was all fresh and nothing too “out there”. And if you do fancy a particular dish there is plenty of restaurants in walking distance (which we did a few times) I know we had the breakfast and evening meal booked on but it didn’t break the bank to eat and drink out a few times. The meal times were pretty broad time slots also so we never felt rushed to get to the dining room and there was plenty of tables set every day. All in all had a great relaxing break away. Will visit again without hesitation. 10/10

We were given a warm welcome on arrival. The hotel had a very luxurious feel to it. The rooms were very clean and nice decor. Our balcony overlooked the front of the hotel but still a good view. There was a large selection of food available for breakfast and evening meal. There was a different theme each evening but still plenty to choose from. There was food and drink available in the day at the bar/cafe on site. The pool area was clean and plenty of sunbeds. There was a chill out zone on the roof of the hotel if you preferred somewhere quieter. The staff were very friendly and happy to help. There was even a resident cat. We look forward to returning again in the future.
