The menu of the a la carte restaurants is somewhat limited. The room service food does not arrive hot and last but not least, the most popular drinks run out and are not replaced at once. For the rest, a very good beach, a good atmosphere and impeccable facilities. Very helpful staff

The resort is breathtaking, and the staff is even more beautiful! The experience was AMAZING. We had the swim out room. Food was plentiful and the drinks were good. Our housekeeper (Mrs Nancy) was REALLY good and very friendly. The beach is lovely. There is a small straw market at the end of the beach that was cool to visit. Prices seemed really reasonable.

Angel and Saulo Were amazing host at our romantic dinner on the beach. They were very attentive and respectful. I recommend the romantic dinner experience. Candle light with a beautiful sunset and live music in the background. 100 percent recommend.

I want to start off by saying this was the best service I have experienced. From the beginning of checkin welcome drink, cold towel to wipe off the travel and speedy service at checkin. Byron Mercedes was assigned as our host/butler, he was very attentive, kind, and very helpful. He brought us a cooler filled with any beverages we wanted on a daily basis to the beach and pool side. Our waitress on the beach was very friendly, knew exactly what we wanted and I believe her name was Maria R. Yuliana aka mini mouse came around daily to inform us of the daily activities, she was up beat and very kind. Bianca in the buffet area always knew what drinks we wanted. I would definitely recommend this place. It has a little bit of everything for adults and family’s with children. As a diamond member we were up graded to swim out room. When we were checking out Byron met us in lobby and made sure our bags were carried down for us. All the staff we encountered from security, hostess, front desk, customer support , bar tenders were always kind, and smiled. With the exception of maybe 1 at the beach grill and 1 cook at the adult buffet. There were a few things in which I will mention that was a con. The adults side is right next to all the tour boats so we had a lot of gas/oil smell and debris in water at times. The food was good, not excellent. They don’t have wrist bands in which at first I thought was great until if you paid more for enclave there was not a way to distinguish who was in the enclave only pool and beach side. The water sports is on the adults side so kids had to walk thru to get to them. The rooms could use some updating, doors have laminate coming off, holes patched in showers and had a musty/humidity smell. They could use some humidifiers. They did have some rooms blocked off so I believe they are upgrading building by building. The nightly entertainment was held on family side so we did not go over due to all the kids. Since I am diamond member I don’t think I would book enclave again, due to diamond members get to experience all the amenities as enclave guests.

My wife and I had a great stay on our honeymoon. All the staff were very attentive and quick to help us. Service and food at all the restaurants was excellent! The drinks were all very good! All our expectations were met and exceeded! I would definitely recommend a stay here!

The experience was amazing , upgrading and having a butler was worth every dollar Luiding was our butler and he handled things you couldn’t even think of. He bought us a cooler on the beach and even made us a pinacolada when we didn’t expect it and it gives a feeling of VIP without the VIP pricing. upgrading to enclave must be one of the highlights and something I recommend because you get lounge access that provides a air conditioned environment that you can not find anywhere else besides your room . The hardest thing about this vacation was the debate between leaving or taking extra days off from work. La Romana hospitality and the sincere servicing from Luiding is something that you can not find anywhere else and is what will bring me back to this property. It’s not about the places you go, but the people you meet along the way. And I am happy to have chosen this resort for my anniversary. PSA bring bug spray.

Wir waren bereits vor einem Jahr dort. Der Strand ist nicht so schön und teilweise sehr felsig und in diesem Hotel kommt auch kein wirkliches Karibik-Feeling auf, aber die Bucht bleibt einigermaßen von Algen verschont und man hat einige Restaurants zur Auswahl, die man auch nicht vorab reservieren muss. Daher entschieden wir uns für einen zweiten Aufenthalt. Das Hotel war nur noch mit Enclave Service zu buchen, obwohl es keine spezielle Zimmerkategorie ist, sondern nur ein Zusatzservice. Wir kamen im Hotel an und wollten an der Rezeption einchecken. Dort hätten wir in kürzester Zeit unser Zimmer beziehen können. Aber wir mussten warten, bis wir zum Enclave Empfang gebracht wurden, mit unseren Koffern einmal quer durch die Hotellobby. Dort wurden wir unter einer eiskalten Klimaanlage ohne weitere Erklärung „abgestellt“ und dort sitzen gelassen (man hätte auch draußen sitzen können, aber wir wurden ja nicht einmal gefragt). Auf mehrfache Nachfrage kam dann später eine junge Dame, die nicht wirklich wusste, was sie tat und immer bei Kollegen nachfragen musste. Sie bot uns ein Getränk an, was wir nie erhalten haben und verschwand wieder. Irgendwann kam sie zurück, gab uns ein Schreiben zum Enclave Service und verschwand wieder. Später kam sie wieder und sagte, sie müsse noch den Allergie-Brief holen, weg war sie, wir warteten also weiter. Dann kam eine andere junge Dame, die uns zur Rezeption bringen sollte, weil dort der Drucker für den Allergie-Brief steht. Also mit den Koffern wieder quer durch die Lobby zur Rezeption, um den Brief abzuholen. Der konnte aber nicht gedruckt werden und sollte dann aufs Zimmer gebracht werden, auch den haben wir bis heute nicht erhalten. Von der Rezeption aus konnten wir dann auf unser Zimmer gehen. Was wir in der langen Wartezeit erhalten haben, ist ein Brief mit Enclave Leistungen und unsere Zimmerschlüssel. Was für ein teuer bezahlter absolut mieser Empfang, der schlechteste, den wir je in einem Hotel erlebt haben. Zumindest wurde unser Zimmerwunsch erfüllt. Wenn wir schon in einem separaten Bereich einchecken müssen, hätten wir erwartet, dass wir Erklärungen zum Enclave Service bekommen und nach Wünschen gefragt werden, leider Fehlanzeige. Zum Enclave Service gehört auch eine erweiterte Minibar. Unser Wunsch: Wasser mit statt ohne Kohlensäure. Es dauerte eine ganze Woche und mehrere Erinnerungen an der Enclave Rezeption und beim Zimmermädchen, um diesen Wunsch zu erfüllen. Super Service. Der Enclave-Bereich am Stand war der schlechteste und total überfüllte Strandabschnitt, der Zugang zum Strand erfolgte über gestapelte Sandsäcke. Statt der schönen Plastikgläser am Strand vom letzten Jahr, die gespült wurde, gab es jetzt Billig-Wegwerf-Plastikbecher, es wurden also täglich riesige Müllberge produziert. Der Service in den Restaurants war auch sehr unterschiedlich von gut bis unterirdisch (besonders negativ aufgefallen sind einige junge Männer im Mare Restaurant). Bienvenido "Benny" was the star of the show. Nicest waiter, served us every morning with a huge smile. Always happy, outstanding service. Genuinely nice man. Rooms were adequate, food decent, pools nice, beaches nice but not much to see underwater. Excellent diving. Entertainment was fair. Service all around was excellent, everyone helpful and kind. Sales pitches by the Playa people got old however, always trying to upsell meals and other stuff Would stay here again.
