"Stayed in this amazing old house, on the first floor. It was -5 degrees outside but the huge room and huge bathroom were very nice and warm. We were greeted by the owner, apparently is was his grandmothers house. Wonderfully decorated Chateau. Car park was in front of the Chateau, and the owner de frosted the car windows in the morning for us when we left. Sort walk to the town center where there are many bars and restaurants. Incredible collection of items, pictures and furniture. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was also delicious with lots of local produce. Would Highly recommend"

"Although this property is very comfortable and has a nice outdoor area, I have to say the breakfast was abysmal. The same loaf of bread was on the table for the 3 days I was there. A few packets of sugary cereal, a box of Madeline’s and some figs and not so good baguette. I availed myself of the evening meal. I’m sorry to say it’s wasn’t very good. Beige and bland. The room was lovely and the owners were very nice."

"This hotel was still undergoing renovations. That was not clear when booking. It really was half a ruin. Moreover, it all came across as very unprofessional. The room we booked for disabled people was certainly not suitable. Space was big enough, but the shower was barely accessible. In addition, the water flowed from the bathroom instead of towards the drain. So we had to mop more than we could shower. Reported this problem immediately, but it was not resolved. The pool is not wheelchair accessible as there are steps everywhere."

"Our stay at Hotel Henri IV was just fabulous! What a charming place to stay in a lovely little village. The owner, Anne, was absolutely amazing. We were there to attend a wedding and she was so helpful with arrangements to and from and anything we needed. English was great. The rooms were lovely and the continental breakfast was delicious and comprehensive. Can’t say enough about how great this was. Highly recommend!"

"Very nice hotel, let down by a few small issues. No plug in the bathroom, made shaving problematic. One light didn't work. Towel radiator in bathroom, could be me, but I couldn't get it to work. Wifi was intermittent at best, maybe due to distance from main hotel we were in villa 1. No milk sachets in fridge. If you want eggs, for breakfast, make sure you seek someone out, we had finished our breakfast before someone appeared and asked... Eggs? Reception staff were very good and the place is great, but at these prices, it is all about the details."

"We stayed 2 nights in September 2025. Our small group was on a bike trip through Bordeaux and found the hotel to be extremely comfortable. The room was spacious, king size bed and roomy, open shower and a comfortable tub. The restaurant was fabulous. Our meals consisted of duck, beef, fish and lamb over the corse of our stay. All were cooked perfectly and presented in a very special way, We had an aperitif at each dinner to start us off, a wonderful appetizer, entree and great dessert. After a long day, the hotel service brought a huge smile to our day. A must stay when in Duras and the Bordeaux region of France."

"The hotel is perfect for a few days to stay and visit the region. The rooms are clean, large enough, the litter is good quality and comfortable, the water room is sufficient and practical. The breakfast buffet is really good and cheap compared to other hotels. The reception is sympathetic. There are restaurants nearby (we can walk there) that are very good. In short, I recommend this hotel for these services, its location and its price."

"I had some kind of notion that Ibis equalled cheap , travellodge type accommodation. Turns out I was wrong. We booked in here after a long trying day , trying ( and failing ) to find an idyllic campsite on the banks of the Dordogne. First impressions were a bit weird. The hotel entrance was pretty much empty , furniture all stacked up and no one about . However , the delightful woman on reception could not have been more helpful or indeed , charming. We booked a double room for 90 euros ( £75 ) which included breakfast. Seemed a good deal . The room was immaculate. The sheets were crisp white and either very well ironed or indeed , brand new. We both had an excellent sleep. The bathroom was a wet room. Again, immaculate. A lovely hot shower , I even sat down ! Large white fluffy towels and lots of them. This has been a lovely surprise and we would definitely recommend if you , like us, are passing through and want a simple stopover. We are just about to go for breakfast. We are expecting something simple but may, yet again, be surprised !"
