North Star Beach Suites

Colin and Justin have created a gorgeous getaway in a great location, I am yet to stay at the hotel but it looks lovely and I have heard great things. My boyfriend and I visited the North Star restaurant last night- it is cozy and modern with a really nice a**osphere, it is more chic than any other places around Louisbourg but the decor still fits the vibes of the town. The hosts give you the option to sit in the lounge for drinks before dining which I always think is a nice touch. The menu is perfect (as a fellow Brit I saw so many home favourites) and the food arrived in perfect time. As someone who loves cocktails there is also a great variety to choose from and for a reasonable price. It was a lovely experience and the staff are so kind and attentive. Something that stood out to me the most was that the owners are very much involved with the customers and interact with each table, asking if you have everything you need and where you have travelled from etc. you don’t always see this in the hospitality world but it thought it was so personable and welcoming. Thank you Colin and Justin for a gorgeous dinner! 12/10 ❤️

A place to feel at home and to be treated like family. Within walking distance to Fortress Louisbourg or a short drive to Sydney and the mining district. Big breakfasts and gourmet dinners. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend staying here or at least dining here!! We were touring East Coast, stopped in Cape Breton to tour and visit a friend and we drove by after seeing Fortress of Louisbourg! We decided to stop for late lunch and WOW! Colin greeted us and served us with such charm🥰 We were staying at a not so great place in Sydney and decided to ask if there was anything available that night at North Star. To our surprise there was! We went back to other hotel, packed and told them we found an amazing hotel, with amazing views and food and CLEAN, so we were not staying another night! My kids and I were so excited and happy, it was like living a dream❤️ You only live once I said! Our friend decided to get a single room to and stay😃 We got up watched the sunrise, had an amazing breakfast and were on our way! I so wished we found this gem sooner to stay longer! This was our first trip to Eastern Canada and we stayed at the North Star* for four nights in a second floor suite with an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean. We enjoyed 2 dinners and 3 breakfasts. The food was absolutely amazing. It was lovely to meet Mrs. MacDonald who gave us excellent recommendations on where to visit in and around Louisbourg. Colin and Justin and staff have done a wonderful job and are all so welcoming. If we could give North Star* more than 5 stars we definitely would! Now to plan our next stay there!

The idea of having this motel and restaurant was a dream and every effort has clearly been made to bring this dream to reality. The town of Louisburg is struggling but North Star Suites is a diamond, especially for anyone visiting Fortress Louisburg which is in sight from the waterside rooms. The restaurant is also really top notch. We hated to leave.

Freshest seafood I have ever eaten and the most amazing seafood chowder I have ever eaten. Rooms are beautiful and we had an ocean view.

Really beautiful room. Very well done. Staff was all very friendly, we even ate in the restaurant on the property and it was very lovely. Really great stay would absolutely recommend
