We stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon specifically with the intention of going to Restaurant Interlude down the road. Knowing we’d be spending a fortune on that, we didn’t want to pay too much for a room; however, this was still meant to be an executive room, but it wasn’t worth what we paid. On the upside, we had a huge comfy bed and the lattice window was very pretty with all the leaves outside overhanging and turning golden, but all else in the room was quite basic and a bit tired (cracked lampshades, a bathroom that was a bit stark and probably hasn’t been updated since the 90s)- this was also reflected in the corridors, though the reception itself seemed quite oldy woldy and nice. The receptionist was very pleasant, though later when I asked where the bar was as she was leaving for the night she failed to mention that it was actually closed. This was about 11:45pm and given that the folder in the room said the bar was open 24/7 for residents this was a bit disappointing, especially considering that there seemed to be some sort of function/party going on there as well; most disappointing, though, was the cocky attitude of the young man who told us the bar was closed- he didn’t seem remotely bothered. Parking was ample, easy and free.
