U Luang Prabang

HThis was my second stay at this hotel, and it was just as enjoyable as the first. This time I stayed in Room 6202, located on the second floor of the newer building on the right-hand side of the property. During my previous visit, I stayed in one of the single-storey rooms behind the fish pond, so I specifically requested a room in the newer wing at check-in. The staff happily accommodated my request, and I was pleased to receive Room 6202, which also features a bathtub. One of the hotel's biggest strengths is its staff. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They appear to be very well trained and consistently provide excellent service. I stayed for one night. Interestingly, the room rate was higher than my previous stay, even though it was the low season. My previous stay included a welcome fruit platter, but this time there wasn't one. Breakfast was also more limited due to the low season. Instead of a full buffet, guests could choose from a breakfast menu, with a small self-service selection of bread, fruit, yogurt, juice, and drinks. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, which was delicious and perfectly portioned. The yogurt was also very good. Unfortunately, I had to leave early, so I didn't have time to try the avocado toast that I had ordered. Personally, I preferred Room 6202 over my previous room. Being on the second floor, it has a private balcony that makes the stay feel more peaceful and secluded. Although it doesn't overlook the pond or fountain, I actually enjoyed the extra privacy. The bathroom features a large glass wall with a curtain, which makes the room feel much more spacious when opened. Another improvement was that there was no unpleasant drain smell, which I experienced in my room during my previous stay. One of the main reasons I chose to stay here again is the hotel's excellent 24-hour stay policy, allowing guests to use the room for a full 24 hours after check-in. I checked in at around 6:30 p.m. and informed the staff that I would be checking out later the following day. They advised me to confirm it again during breakfast, and I eventually checked out at around 4:00 p.m., which was very convenient. For those interested in collecting the hotel's loyalty points, note that points can only be earned when booking directly with the hotel, not through third-party booking platforms. During my stay, it was the school holiday period, and the nearby children's cultural centre was hosting activities. There was some noise from children during the day, but it wasn't excessive and didn't significantly affect my stay. Overall, I had another pleasant experience and would happily return. The friendly staff, comfortable rooms, flexible 24-hour stay policy, and peaceful atmosphere continue to make this one of my favourite places to stay.

The best in Luang Prabang. Great location, great staff service and very nice and new room. Great breakfast, mini buffet plus order from menu, any time of day. Free drink from mini-bar, one can/person/day. Free bicycle. Oh also 24-hour stay,check-in and out same time.
