The hotel owned by Laos Airline has large rooms and slightly old facilities, but it is very clean. An extra bed costs US$25 per night, and breakfast is US$7 per person. The room we were given was on the second floor. There was no elevator because there was a 28-inch large suitcase. I told the front desk and a little brother helped to carry it upstairs. Muangthong Hotel is a short walk away from Luang Prabang’s night market and town center. The hotel staff are very friendly and informative. We had a very peaceful stay at the hotel and enjoyed using the swimming pool and sitting on the balcony. We used the hotel bicycles to get around the town quickly and the staff arranged tours outside of the town for us which were great. We didn’t add breakfast to our booking but the buffet looked delicious!
