The Loch Lomond Arms Hotel

Good place to stay. Friendly staff and great 3 course meal in restaurant. No complaints!

We travelled over to the pub to charge our electric car & have some lunch. A number of charging apps showed 4 charging stations all working, pulled into the space painfully downloaded the relevant app for their chargers but couldn’t connect. I went into the bar area to ask for help, the guy behind the bar was lovely & went off to ask someone, he came back to tell me the chargers were not working they had only recently been installed. I explained they were showing live on a number of apps could he double check. I watched him walk into the reception area & could see the reflection of the person he was talking to via the mirror in the reception area. I can only assume he was the manager, he was wearing a waistcoat & red tie he was the only member of staff dressed this way. I could see him smirking & laughing, he then walked over to me was rude & very arrogant. As a Customer Service Director myself, I was appalled by the way this individual spoke to me, if any of my team spoke to our Customers in that way they wouldn’t last very long in the job. Beautiful hotel & bar, shame about the management, they could certainly do with some customer service training at the very least.

Give this place a miss. Food is terrible and overpriced. I’m anticipating stomach ache shortly. I’m very much struggling and not wishing to waste time on a lengthy review to tell you to avoid. Building is freezing cold which was a nice bonus.

Went for lunch last sunday, parked in the disabled bay with my disabled permit clearly visible and entered the restaurant through the back door from the car park. We didnt see any signs saying to register you reg num and several members of staff saw us enter through the back door and at no time did anyone say to us. I have now been hit with a parking charge, which they can sing for. I will certainly be telling friends to avoid here at all costs as it is not worth the hassle. Wonder how many people a day get stung for the same thing! Shocking!

We paid for two nights at this hotel but only stayed one night. After arriving at the hotel we decided to go for a walk when we returned we decided to pop into bar for a drink the staff looked a bit uncomfortable serving us. A member of staff approached us and said that we couldn't have a drink in the restaurant we would have to take it into library i looked around and there was only two other couples in there. Whats the point in staying in a hotel and not be able to sit and have a drink ? we then went into a small room called the library which was very busy and no place to sit so i decided to speak to reception they advised me that we could sit outside ! it was November and very cold outside. We ended up taking our drink up to the bedroom room not what I was expecting from a two night break costing over £500

Popped in for lunch. Soup and pie both fine but vegetables past their best, asked for some more gravy and got charged extra £2 for a small pot! My wife had the cod, which was miniscule, tiny amount of source and tired vegetables. Service charge automatically included so didn't feel discretionary at all although service was good. Overall a bit expensive and some poor elements
