This is definitely an older hotel in need of updating and, although the important areas were clean, needs a thorough cleaning in less obvious spaces. For example, the bathroom vanity and toilet were clean, but the built-in hair dryer was dusty. The kitchen area was clean, but the sconces on the wall were covered in dust. The bed was clean and comfy, but the carpet was stained. The dishwasher had a ”cleaned” sticker on it, but upon opening, half the dishes needed to be hand washed because there was residue. Almost all the dishes in the room were in the dishwasher. There were dirt smudges on the doors and curtains. The room was very very damp the entire time (5 days and it rained twice). Despite being on the ground floor near the parking lot, it was very quiet. However, one night we came back to our room to fire trucks - someone had spilled gasoline in the hallway (!?) and they were trying to air out the area. The next night the fire alarm went off (someone's cooking). The front desk had some of the worst service I've ever experienced in a hotel. Every time you needed something (which was often - only one serving of coffee for a 5 night stay, one roll of toilet paper, needed to exchange old towels for clean ones) the staff acted as if you were bothering them. When I asked for pool towels, the woman behind the desk said ”only if you come up to the closet with me and get them.” She had to come back down (closet on third floor) and past the office to get to the pool, so why did I need to come with her? Pool was dirty, so we only spent about 5 minutes in it anyway. Despite all this, the hotel is very conveniently located to chain restaurants and stores and a very short drive to Little League facilities and downtown. Having a kitchenette was very convenient. The room itself as well as the bathroom and closet were big.

I stayed here one night on my way to upstate New York. The hotel was a solid choice. For a domestic property they had good Platinum recognition. Breakfast was decent for a free meal but mostly what you'd expect cereal, oatmeal, fruit and some prepackaged hot options. Not awesome but ok for this level of service. There is a small amount of parking in front of the hotel for check-in but overnight parking is across the street above the bus station. We had a two bedroom suite which was a great for three of us travelling together (this was what we paid for it was not an upgrade). Overall I would hesitate to stay here again.

The mattresses on the beds swayed in the middle. Very uncomfortable. I asked for an extra blanket and the front desk person retrieved it from the laundry area. When I opened it up in my room there was a bed bug on it. This prompted me to closely inspect the beds. I found three more. I would have demanded a refund and left had I not booked through a third party.

The room is good and the room has a small kitchen where you can do some simple food processing yourself. Inside the hotel next door, there is a very good western restaurant, the western food is very delicious, and the Texas specialty beer is quite delicious. The car was parked in the three-dimensional parking building next door. At check-in, the hotel will give a magnetic card for payment at the exit.
Motel 6 Montoursville, PA

I'm obsessed with hiking waterfall trails and several google searches revealed quite a few waterfalls in the Loyalsock Forest/World's End State Park area so I booked a room at this Motel 6 because it seemed pretty central to the area I wanted to explore. Check in was seamless, however after entering our room I quickly realized that housekeeping seemed, for the most part, to have paid little, if any, attention to our room. The nightstand between the 2 beds was obviously not even wiped down judging by the multitude of visible fingerprints; there was not only no toilet paper in the bathroom but no soap, cups or other complimentary toiletries. In light of the current situation we find ourselves in I had no problem wiping down the furniture in our room because I would have automatically done so anyway but after notifying the front desk the manager took care of everything immediately and apologized saying that they had some new hires that clearly needed more training. The room was fairly spacious, more than enough room for hubby, myself and our golden retriever but the beds were a little too firm for my liking but not uncomfortable. Flat screen TV with a large channel selection and excellent wifi, power strip for your phone chargers and the air conditioner kept our room nice and cool plus our room was super quiet but I wasn't a fan of the motion activated light switch in the bathroom (especially when getting up in the middle of the night and trying not to disturb hubby). We were on the first floor and right outside the exit there was small wooded area for our dog to use the bathroom. Right down the road there was even a nice walking trail along the Susquehanna River/railroad tracks, we saw lots of snails on our morning hike (never seen anything like that before). The owners clearly live on site and were always available for whatever we needed. I would definitely stay at this hotel when in the area again. This hotel was right off the expressway and only minutes from local parks and attractions and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking lot was well lit and well maintained and not sure if it is available for the guests to use but there was a grill and picnic table near the small wooded area just outside the side exit.
