Precís: Room: Spacious and well appointed. No TV but this is in keeping with the ambience and we didn't miss it. Bed: Very comfy. Location: Stunning! Overlooks Barossa. Hospitality: Stuning! Breakfast: Delicious. Shower: A great step forward in civilisation. Cost: Not cheap but great value for money.

My husband and i prepaid $1000 for 4 nights in early July. Unfortunately SA shut its borders to NSW on 26 June and we were unable to go on our holiday. I sent an email advising that we would not be able to visit through no fault of our own. No reply! I emailed again and again and rang on several occasions. Finally they responded and offered a 3 mth credit! I stated that this would be impossible as the borders would still be closed. After another half dozen emails they finally extended to a 6 mth credit. This also is inadequate as the borders show no sign of opening. I have repeatedly emailed requesting a refund or at the very least a further 6 mths credit but again no response. I have now taken this issue up with NSW fair trading and have communicated with SA fair trading regarding this establishment.

Beautiful location for a quiet escape having spent 3 nights in this country home. Spacious room with stunning views. Port and food platter a nice touch. Living room in main house amazing. Julian an excellent friendly host who has lots of tales to tell. Cooked a substantial tasty breakfast each morning so thank you. However it’s the attention to detail that lets this property down, which is a shame. Cobwebs on door, dusty throughout, no hot water on first day (however was fixed). No servicing of room but managed. It’s the little things that contribute to making an experience 5 star. Looks like the property is up for sale so that may be is the answer.

BEWARE of their Travel booking Terms and Conditions: There is no refund of a deposit re a Cancellation of the booking, even with plenty of notice. They do not issue a refund of your deposit due to cancellation of your booking due to Covid Border Closures, even with plenty of notice. BEWARE when booking.

What an amazing find! Kudos to Jane and Julian for their incredible hospitality. Stunning countryside and brilliant location. The facilities at Abbotsford House are second to none. Fabulous hosts with amazing knowledge of the Barossa. We can’t not mention Abbotsford’s Golden’s: handsome Hank, beautiful Nancy and sweet ol’ Sergeant… the most delightful way to be welcomed each morning!!! Thank you thank you thank you. !

Currently extremely disappointed with the customer service of Abbottsford Country House. We have been trying to get in touch for several months to discuss rebooking / refund options with the venue due to our trip being postponed in Sept 2020 by COVID lockdowns with no luck. ACH kindly extended us a credit for 12 months which expires in a few days and they have not returned our calls, voicemails and several emails to discuss options as the lockdown is still impacting us in NSW. They have taken full payment of over $1000 and now won't communicate with us to help ease our concerns over being unable to avail this stay. Please return my calls and emails.
