Ness and Phil are the perfect hosts. We appreciated their attention to detail - a chocolate, a bottle of water, the chilled milk and breakfast choices included the Ness special yoghurt with fruit and home made muesli. Comfortable bed with squashy pillows. Ideal location for walking and very close to good local restaurants. We will return. Jenny and Tony

All our requirements were met, and some. Accommodation was clean and comfortable, with the proprietors going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Food was very tasty and plentiful, and included homemade bread, jam, marmalade and muesli. We would definitely stay there again.

Phil & Ness are welcoming & nothing is too much trouble. The food is fantastic, a wonderful homemade breakfast. The rooms are spotless. Comfortable beds & everything you need. A truly relaxing break The location is brilliant for exploring Exmoor, Lynton & lynmouth.

Brilliant 2 night stay - Ness and Phil are a wonderful couple and make every minute of your stay the best experience. Rooms are awesome and the breakfasts are delicious - nothing is too much trouble. Rockvale will be our 'home-from-home' when visiting our family! Highly recommended.

We stayed at Rockvale for one night. Charming guest house, with delightful decor, and spotlessly clean. The owners were everything you might hope for - polite, pleasant, helpful ... . the superking bed in room 1 was very comfortable. The breakfast was great, and the views of Lynton and surrounds were delightful. Only criticism was that the shower had one control to govern both pressure and temperature. For me the pressure was too much when the temperature was agreeable. Never come across that before ...? All in all a good experience. I would go again.

Hospitality was excellent, we were made to feel very special, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast beautiful, full English plus other options as well . Lovely home couldn't wish for better hosts. The house was in a good position to enjoy the many lovely walks in the local area.

The establishment was spotlessly clean. The room was comfortable and the only problem was getting my wife from the very comfortable bed. The hosts certainly made us feel wanted and welcome. The breakfasts were tasteful and more than ample. My wife and I enjoyed the grounds as well as exploring away from the hotel. We look forward to a return perhaps next year.

Phil and Ness are perfect hosts. The whole house is spotless. Room was a lovely size and well lit with the most comfortable bed. Be warned the breakfasts are VERY generous. There is a well stocked bar and comfortable guest lounge. On sight parking a bonus.

A wonderful 3 night break in this sumptuous guest house. Phil and Ness were the consummate hosts. A great location, exceptionally clean. Amazing breakfasts. We didn’t need to eat after breakfast until the evening. Great super king size bed.
