Hôtel ibis Lyon Gerland Rue Merieux

I stayed at this hotel for a conference at IARC, and it was super convenient, just a 10-minute walk away. The breakfast, served on the first floor, was also quite good. The subway station (Gerland) is just a 5-minute walk across the street. While the surrounding area, near Lyon Normal University, doesn't have many shops, getting to the city center by subway is a breeze.

The room was a bit small, and the breakfast wasn't very diverse, but it was alright overall.

We booked this hotel for one night. The hotel initially offered us a room with two single beds instead of the double bed we requested, but they changed it right away. Unfortunately, the 'double bed' was simply two single beds pushed together, so the night was quite uncomfortable as we kept waking up in the gap between the two mattresses. Aside from that, everything else was perfect.

Everything was great.

Conclusion: I've never stayed in such a terrible hotel! Front Desk: They were unclear about the platform booking process during check-in! During check-out, they were unclear about the procedures and payment methods, as taxes had already been collected upon check-in, and they wanted to collect again upon check-out. Room: Extremely small, no slippers, toothpaste, or toothbrush provided, and the sink didn't drain properly.

The environment is nice, but it's a bit noisy because it's close to the road.

The price-performance ratio is relatively low.
