Ibis Styles Lyon Centre - Gare Part-Dieu

3rd arr.La Part-Dieu
Hard to find fault for the price and location. It's not 5 star, but it isn't 5 star prices. Nothing wrong with it. Reception staff are nice and helpful. Hotel is very clean. Good room, nothing fancy but good bed and linen. Modern clean bathroom with big shower. Bring your own hairdryer though, you will be there all day if you have long thick hair, it's useless really. Quiet room. Breakfast was good. Good coffee and juice. Good quality plain yogurt and pastries. Also bread, ham, cereals etc. Right next to station which you can walk through to get to Westfield shopping centre. Just across the road for the airport tram etc. Would stay again
Ibis Styles Lyon Confluence

2nd arr.La Presqu'ile
We stayed here before, just before the first lockdown, and things were much worse this time. Breakfast: staff took it on themselves on two mornings to close the main room by putting ”reserved” signs on every table and making everyone go into a smaller, more cramped room. It was never clear why, but apparently to minimise cleaning. No one - staff or guests - wore a mask when around the food or moving around the room. Front-desk staff were variable, between 0 and 5 stars The ”welcome drink” for being an Accor Gold member (which was not offered, but had to be requested) was limited to one person, rather for than the two staying in the room. I was told that this was ”standard” in Accor properties. it most definitely is not. Room keys had to be replaced three or four times. Once, the same ”this is standard” staff member told me the key was working. it was not. Another staff member later discovered that the keys had been issued incorrectly in the first place. In the room, the shower head could not be moved up and down the pole. There weren't enough power points. Otherwise, the room was quiet and the hotel is in a nice location. A night staff member (generally much better than the day staff) kindly printed our boarding passes. That's not enough to offset a property where it often felt that ”the customer is always wrong”.
Ibis Styles Lyon Croix-Rousse

4th arr. La Croix-Rousse
Beware if you think that this ranks with other Ibis Styles range hotels. It is a former Kyriad hotel that suffers from lack of investment. On the plus side, the breakfast area is good and the food on offer provides an excellent start to the day. The staff were great. The beds were comfortable. On the minus side the rooms are small and poorly furnished ( no bedside tables, only one chair between 2 of us..) The bathroom was modern but poorly ventilated and tiny. The underground parking was a nightmare. Getting our SUV into the small spaces was a challenge and getting from the car park up to the hotel was via a very dark spiral staircase. I found the experience really stressful and not worth the price we paid. Avoid.
