Vibe Inn - Whirlpools Suites - Lyons

Ehhh, I guess I only read the GOOD reviews. No jacuzzi tub in our room, bed was NOT good, pretty average & ok for the price. Better have CASH for the tv remote & room key! QUARTERS & a container, if you want ice. I really thought I booked a jacuzzi room, but after all of the above, I wonder if I’d have to have fed dollar bills into the jacuzzi?!!

Great neighborhood

My experience at this property was a bit unique. The staff here were more than helpful and accommodated all of my needs. There were a few things worth noting. The property requires your deposit for incidentals be in cash. Nowhere on their hotel page nor during the booking process does it mention being strictly cash. The room was OK but no closet or storage area for clothing or luggage. Had the room been economy I wouldn't have minded it but this was supposed to be the king whirlpool suite. The bed linens were very thin and not the best quality. I would suggest bringing your own blanket if you prefer sleepng in warmth. Although I had requested a non-smoking room there was a stagnant smoke odor in the area. Maybe it wasn't in that specific room but the smell was all over my clothes and the items in my suitcase after making it home. The best amenity by far is the whirlpool. Experiencing that made the other issues disappear. If you plan to stay here I would strongly recommend booking a room with a whirlpool.

Liked the big tub, didn’t like having to pull cash out to get it right back.

Front desk acted like they didn’t really care whenever I returned to my room my wouldn’t work had to go front desk every time to get key reauthorized housekeeping was very good

We came into the city for a 3 night event at the United Center. Easy check in and out process. Room was pretty clean and mostly quiet. Could update carpets. We were comfortable. Would have enjoyed a little extra lighting and outlets. Jacuzzi tub worked great! We had an emergency and the front desk was there to help within 20 minutes. We will be back!

Use a car to get to this place as it is pretty far away from rapid transit. I chose it because of the proximity to the Brookfield Zoo - great place! The biggest turn off was the difficulty I had with my check in. The only way I could key in my credit card pin number was to either contort my hand through the slot at the bottom of their security glass - which was impossible - or give my pin number to the clerk to enter the digits into the key pad - or pay cash. How hard can it be to deepen the opening on the counter so that the credit card machine can be passed through for the customer to enter their credit card information. Ridiculous! But that's not all. I tightened the screws of the toilet seat in the room as it was sliding back and forth. I also went and bought new batteries for the television remote as it wasn't working. Turned out that the remote had an issue. I chose to use the shower instead of the whirlpool in the room.

Property is not kept clean, nothing in place for a hotel. No microwave or even to give you just hot water. The staff don't make any effort to meet the need of the customer. First room I was checked in had a leaking roof. The rooms smell dusky and carpet is dirty. Will not come back.
