The hotel is fantastic, with a few minor issues could have been even better. We booked on the family weekend dbb offer and thought it was an amazing deal. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We thought the hotel itself was really nice. Our room was massive and plenty of room, even had a separate room with twin beds for the kids. The only issue we had was that it was next to the atrium where there was an 18th birthday party. The music was so loud the vibrations shook our room and went on until midnight. Thankfully myself and the kids were soooo tired from the day we were able to sleep. My wife not so lucky. The facilities were amazing. There is loads to do and a really thought out activities calander. The pool is really nice!!! The restaurant is used for breakfast and dinner looks newly refurbished and looks the part. The adult food was really good. The kids buffet however was a bit, dare a say stale. The bolognaise sauce was poor, the pasta had been sat under the heat lamps sooo long it had gone dry and hard the sausages in gravy was a little crusty. In saying that the pizza was OK and the kids loved the desert section!! Breakfast was great. So much choice and we'll cooked. The kids entertainment was going well but I'm afraid asking the kids to stand on chairs and dance Sent my anxiety off!!!!! Health and safety issue possibly??? Happy hannah in the kid zone is amazing. Such a friendly person, great with kids and very chatty. She said she helped sort the room out and its better than alot of kids nurseries!! Big well done to her. In summary I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely look for other offers from them!

This is my second time at the Dalmeny. This year it was just me and my 8 year old son. We booked the DBB rate for a twin room that could be cancelled up to 48 hrs before if required. When we arrived we were given room 153 which was a large room with double bed, twin beds, sofa and balcony along at the end over the terraced garden rooms. This was a lovely surprise for us. Having all the extra space made the room less chaotic as it sometimes is with a kid and all their stuff in tow. We have previously stayed in a hotel close by and booked the dalmeny this year as I knew the alacarte menu would suit my fussy eater better. However, on the first night he was sent to a kids buffet, which he wasn’t than enamoured with and complained the chips were cold, plus he was finished before I had finished my starter! I asked the server about the buffet and he told me that the kids menu was available and I had I not been told this when we were shown to our table. I wish I had asked in the first instance now. Anyway the next 2 nights were much better and met our expectations. But I did hear the person showing other families near us to their seat and telling them it was the buffet for the kids - felt like they were trying to push that first which is a shame as the pizza on the kids menu was way better than the pizza on the buffet. Food was good in the restaurant for me so no issues there. My son has never been one for joining in the entertainment but the weather wasn’t great so we went to the ballroom and Rocking Rob was on and he was brilliant with all kids and parents. He set the bar high, the next 2 nights weren’t just as good but my son enjoyed them all. Kids entertainment on till ten and be warned it was difficult to drag them away before it finished. We didn’t join in on crafts, but there seemed to be something for young ones, and we didn’t venture into the kids cinema either but good options for rainy days. Car parking at the front was nearly always full and I wasn’t attempting the underground car park, but on exploring the hotel we realised there is a rear car park which accessed from the road behind the hotel (along from the Marks and Spencer) and a good few more spaces here with access to the hotel. We would definitely come back here again, and probably will.

We knew this hotel specialised in family holidays. Not a problem, we had our 14 year old granddaughter with us. However……. The entertainment centred around very young children with no ‘all round’ evening entertainment at all. The bar off reception had a large sign at the entrance stating no children after 9pm…. We witnessed several parents with babies in prams still drinking at 10.30pm… even when one young baby had been crying incessantly for over 20 minutes… Toddlers were running about in the bar until it closed at 11pm… No drinks service was available for ‘grown-ups’ after 11pm other than via room service. The room was clean and comfortable with a sea view. The bathroom was very tired and the bath panel was adhered with sticky tape, the extractor fan didn’t work despite it being an interior bathroom with no windows. Food and drink….. Very limited food menu. Chicken breast and bacon on a roll with salad leaves, side of fries and coleslaw was £17..95… Drinks menu showed 330ml bottles of Coke for £3. What we actually got served was a 200ml ( mixer size bottle) for the price of a 330ml bottle. We queried this but the bar manager said that they’d always served Coke in the small bottles and the 330ml on the price list was wrong???? All in all, a very expensive two day stay for a very average hotel.

We stayed here 1 night for my wife's birthday on the 20% off offer over Easter holidays. 1st impressions were excellent, got there at 1pm and we was able to use all the hotel facilities till collecting our keys later on. Our family room was very modern and a perfect size for the 4 of us. We had drinks and food in the indigo bar which were very reasonably priced. We then went to the entertainment for the children, wow this was fantastic, very good entertainer who interacted with all the children!! He did loads of games. Breakfast in the morning was 10/10.... very stylish & modern restaurant..... All self service and all freshly cooked hot food. We will definitely be returning to the Dalmeny in the summer months, it was the childrens entertainment and the breakfast service that did it for us.

Staff were really friendly and the room was fab, couldn’t believe how big it was! It was also absolutely spotless. I used the pool, sauna and steam room which were a treat. the showers in the pool could be doing with a wee bit of TLC but on the whole we had a fab stay and will be back. Great value for money too.

We've stayed here 3 or 4 times over the past years, and this time I think there were 2 major areas to comment: 1) The staff were very professional and service minded, and the general service level went over and above expectations - both in the bar and the breakfast restaurant. The cooked breakfast was great! 2) The showers in the spa changing rooms were really really nasty, with orange mold on the floor and walls and black mold on the shower curtains. It needs a DEEP clean. The sauna and steam room were also very tired - and need a refurbishment/replacement. (We even found a small poo kicking around in the shower - which was there for a long time! The staff need to check this area a bit more often).

A great spa break away for my birthday. The hotel is in need of a little TLC. There were just parts of room which needs replacing. This didn't spoil our weekend. We ate in the restaurant in the evening food was delicious and we all enjoyed. Staff were all polite and made us feel welcomed. Cocktails were lovely. We chose to use the spa with a fantastic massage. Well worth adding this to your stay.

We booked a very last minute family break to our favourite sea side town and decided for a change to stay at The Dalmeny as we hadn’t stayed here since before Covid. Our kids laughed and had a wonderful weekend as did we, the food was fantastic, my partner was a big fan of the hash browns at breakfast which he stated were “perfectly crisp and not at all greasy” The kids and I enjoyed swimming in the pool Our room was lovely bright clean and spacious so the four of us didnt feel we were on top of each other We hope to be back in the summer for a couple of days
