The most amazing hotel, beautiful over water villas, great selection of restaurants & bars and overwhelmed by the lovely staff & their endless top quality hospitality. We’ve been to the Maldives before, never to IHG but will definitely return.

This was our second visit back to the Maldives. We didn’t think it could be better than our first experience 6 years ago… but we were wrong. IC Maldives is next level when it comes to luxury, from the beginning to the end. We had a short wait in the beautiful IC private lounge at the Seaplane terminal before embarking on a 40min seaplane ride to the resort. This was an experience in itself. Our last Maldivian adventure, we had domestic air transfers plus a boat ride…. No doubt the seaplane option is way better, more seamless and well worth the cost. On disembarking the seaplane, we had a 2 min boat ride to the resort (seaplanes are unable to land directly at the resort). We were warmly welcomed by the entire team at IC with drums and smiles, we all felt like celebrities! Our curator (butler) Mira was attentive and respectful throughout our stay, giving us the right amount of attention and privacy as well. Our villa was tastefully decorated on arrival with balloons and treats for our daughter. Twice daily housekeeping left our villa spotless and clean always. We had personalized bikes to get around the resort. Buggies were available as well. The app to communicate with the e-curator was efficient. They thought of everything to make our stay perfect! Our 2 storey lagoon villa was one of a kind, and unique to IC Maldives. On one side our own private beach on the lagoon and the other side was our private pool over water- giving us the best of both worlds. There is no access to the ocean from the pool side, which was not an issue for us. We spent most days lazing in our pool watching dolphins and other sea life swim past. Then had a swim in the ever so warm lagoon surrounded by fish! Amazing! This is certainly a high end resort with more of a boutique feel, great for couples and families who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy resort. If you are not on a meal plan, then one would find the food rather pricey. Our breakfast was included and was more than substantial and delicious. Both buffet and alar carte are on offer, with rotating daily specials. We had this meal as our brunch, which satisfied us until dinner, with complimentary afternoon tea and cocktails in between, included as part of Club Lounge benefits. Unlike other intercontinental resorts, everyone visiting IC Maldives has club benefits included. We had room service one evening which was nice, pizza another night, pricey but tasty. The highlight for us was however dinner at the Lighthouse. Spectacular on every level- service, food and ambient setting was en pointe. Expensive but worth it! The whole IC experience was like a dream come true. The staff always made us feel welcome and ensured our stay was comfortable throughout. From management to food service, housekeeping and ground staff- everyone had a smile. Not worth the money at all, horrible service from our curator, couldn't even get a buggy when requested , went on an all inclusive package but the choices given on the package was very limited, the food menu nor the drinks menu was soo limited, The non alcoholic beverages just had 3 choices. But the chefs shanaz and shibu team were good in their service. Since we have been to Maldives before and been to other resorts were the service, choices of food, drinks were soo great when compared to this hotel. It was not at all an all inclusive package there was hidden costs included in any activities or anything. Didn't feel great at all, it just made us feel horrible and such a waste of money.

Surely the best getaway. From a very warm welcome to all the little details everything was perfect. The villa was so cozy with our own private pool and the bedding, the pillows so comfortable and dreamy. We enjoyed all the food varieties available in all 4 restaurants.
