Yes, the hotel is in the old town, wherever it is convenient, it is an old monastery remodeled. There is a Chinese restaurant opposite the hotel. The key is that Maastricht is very beautiful, there are not many people visiting in winter, and even less Chinese tour groups. Because of the junction of the three cities of the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, it is very international. Shopping is great, Belgians are running over to buy things. Our room on the 4th floor was facing the train station but very quiet in the night. The room was clean. The bed was big and comfortable. There were 3 windows. Like the round table with 2 chairs, we really could sit for a drink. Breakfast was great. Receptions were friendly and helpful. We pre-booked the underground parking so convenience when we arrived. Lots of restaurants around the hotel and from the hotel to City Hall. The only think that I don’t like was the bath tub was small and narrow so when I showered the shower curtain touched my arm all the time.

If you choose for an arrangement , so including breakfast and the so-called three-fold dinner, you should not expect the best of them . First, we got a room on the first floor, just above the entrance .. The hotel's worst room, while there were rooms available. The so-called three-way menu is not very good and very little. Moreover, the cook didn't want to make the orange bavary and we just got deep freezers from the supermarket with a layer of chocolate sauce... terrible! The privilege was also invaluable and consisted of a so-called champignon soup with six sprays of tauge and two champignons... I felt very insulted that this was offered to me... that she dare to serve that is scandalous... We were allowed to sit only at a certain place in the restaurant because we had a arrangement and were treated as a little as t****erang guests.. This is very bad! The grounds and buildings of this property are breathtakingly beautiful, like a film set that could never be real. The staff exude an air of formal, graceful professionalism. The surrounding region (drive the rural route to Val Dieu abbey) is comprised of mile after mile of impossibly beautiful agrarian hills and valleys dotted with perfect little towns like Teuven. There is a quiet restaurant and bar at the Chateau but the town of Valkenberg just up the street has a collection of livelier bars and restaurants. The buffet breakfast on the property is excellent. Visitors accustomed to the speed and sharp edges of modern life will need to adjust here. Time seems to move more slowly. Our rooms were gigantic, bigger than many apartments and the attached patio overlooked an orchard. The small kitchen had an oven/microwave, electric range and small refrigerator. The furnishings, however, were from another era. They were in pristine condition and comfortable and staying in the room was a step back in time by about a century. Not a complaint at all. Miles of nature and cycling trails start and end from the chateau that apparently sits within a wildlife preserve. The region appears to be a hub for competitive cycling and roads leading in all directions are calling to be ridden. Stay here, breathe the fresh air, wander through the trails and art installations. Turn down the speed of life. Don’t expect to come here for a dance club, fitness center or urban experience of any kind.

Very beautiful and modern rooms. Great TV incl. chromecast so you can watch whatever you want. Entry and exit was very easy and breakfast was also good! Our room was on the side of the airport and it was quiet, at the beginning of the evening you could see a lot of air balloons in the far. We were happy to be surprised to see if you could buy some of the snack at the reception evening, and they sold snacks at about the same price as you should pay in the supermarket for it.

Bij aankomst werden wij heel hartelijk en met de glimlach ontvangen door een heel vriendelijke vrouw. Ze gaf ons uitleg en bracht ons naar onze kamer. De kamer was netjes, ruim, gezellig aangekleed en er was veel lichtinval, waar wij echt van genoten. De indeling van de meubels vonden wij ook superleuk! Het was een super rustgevende kamer met een heel ruimtelijk gevoel. In hotelkamers voelen wij ons soms opgesloten, maar dat was hier absoluut niet het geval! Er was heel veel opbergruimte in ruime kasten, superhandig! De badkamer was volledig in orde met een mooie ruime inloopdouche. Alles werkte perfect! We vonden het wel super jammer dat het zwembad enkel tussen 17u en 19u gratis te gebruiken was. De spa bijboeken was niet meer mogelijk omdat het vol geboekt was. Wij hadden ENORM uitgekeken naar een gezellige relaxerende “avondzwembeurt”. Bij het boeken via deze app van Trip hadden wij nergens gezien dat het zwembad niet continu vrij te gebruiken was. Ook is het voor ons te duur om dat er nog bij te boeken helaas. Het ontbijt was voor ons wat minder. Er waren een aantal dingen die we niet zo aangenaam vonden, vb niet alle vaat was proper, 1 van de potjes van het dessertenbuffet was blijkbaar gebroken, enkele mini eclairs in de frigo waren “geschonden” en dat zag er niet zo smakelijk uit, de granola-torens waren nogal leeg… De zaal waarin het ontbijt plaats vond, vonden wij wel super!! Het is een beleving op zich! Wij waanden ons in een heel andere wereld. Dat geldt ook voor het hele gebouw, de gangen, de tuin,… De tuin is sprookjesachtig. Als wij niet zo snel weg moesten, hadden wij daar graag wat tijd doorgebracht. Een superleuk ingerichte woning en tuin, super rustgevend, de gangen zijn ook heel mooi ingericht, het verzet echt je gedachten op een positieve manier en wij wilden hier super graag nog langer blijven!! Als wij een groter budget hadden, dan kwamen we hier voor langere periode en boekten we de spa erbij, want voor rust hebben deze eigenaars zeker gezorgd!! Wij hebben echt genoten van ons verblijf hier en raden het aan!

Excellent! We arrived a little early but it was no bother and we were checked in swiftly by a very kind and professional receptionist; she was very helpful too with a great sense of humour. The rooms are very nice, big and clean and the bathroom is big, with a choice of shower heads and a separate bath. The breakfast buffet offers A LOT of options and I was impressed, it would have been perfect if they’d have served vegetarian sausages but that’s me being incredibly picky. Check out was swift plus you can also check out online or leave your keys in a drop box. There is ample parking and the location is very good as you are just off the motorway between Belgium and Germany. We booked directly with them so they offered us a little treat which was super nice. I thoroughly recommend this hotel; the parking, rooms and staff are very, very good!
