New South Motor Inn

This small Motor Inn is a throwback to pre-interstate travel. The rooms are compact, yet efficiently laid out with modern amenities. We stayed in a double and the beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. The room was very clean. The individual toiletries and towels were good quality and well stocked. The bathroom was small with no counter space - the wide windowsill and towel shelf were put into service instead. There was a wooden stand-alone "closet" and luggage rack that worked for our one night stay. The A/C cooled the room quickly after we arrived and kept it at the right temperature overnight. There was a kitchenette with sink, fridge, microwave, and well stocked coffee bar. Also an Honor Bar selection of drinks and snacks - including bottles of wine. The was a smart Roku TV that provided limited live shows. The highway traffic noise was surprisingly not too bad at night. The rooms around us were empty, so can't comment on noise from neighbors. There is not an on-site office. The codes for the digital door locks (room and ice) were emailed and worked easily. The Inn is conveniently located - a sidewalk lined mile to downtown Madison, and a 10 minute drive to I-20 with a Walmart and fast food options.

Everyone in my party loved this unique little motel in Madison. The interior was very nice and clean. Would stay again if in the area!

If you’ve ever wanted to stay in a redone retro roadside motel, this one is excellent. Located about halfway between the interstate and downtown Madison, it’s excellently restored and delivers that classic roadside motel experience. The room is small, just as it was built all those years ago, but has every modern amenity and is so charming. Our king room was quiet, had cool a/c, and was perfect for a one night stay. Well done.

Great communication from the start. When I had a couple individual requests they were accomodating and helpful. The room is cute, clean and comfortable with everything you would need. I was in the King room room, complete with a fridge and little sink area. The bathroom is small if you had 2 people, but absolutely doable for the charm you get being here.

Wonderfully restored hotel. Loved the way this hotel was redone. Very comfortable and nice hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

Everything was incredibly clean. Room access couldn’t have been easier. Lots of attention to details in the room. Complimentary water. Frig with sodas. Very comfortable beds, bedding and cold air conditioning. Very well updated old school motor inn. Would definitely stay here again!!!

Very clean, updated completely and easy self check in and out. Plenty of coffee, creamers, sugar toiletries.

We travel all of the time and are very loyal to Marriotts…BUT… The New South Motor Inn is the best place to stay. So this isn’t luxury but what it is, is inviting. Easy to control temperature. Spotless room, great Keriug coffee, so quiet and a mile into the square. Bed was so cozy. Easy to use Yale key pad for entry. Decor was fun. The photos you see online are exactly how they are. I’d do free advertisements for them!

I loved being able to back right up to the room door, did not even need to bring in much from the car... because it was just a step away. Everything is brand new in the room. Definitely recommend.
