5/28-30/2024 My bucket list trip to The Lost Sea ….55 years in the making . We splurged and got the room with the whirl pool because I knew my bad knees would need soaking after the Lost Sea hike. The whirl pool in our room was not clean …so I went ahead and cleaned it , no big deal…things happen. Reported the un clean tub and sent photos(upon the front desk request) . They didn’t offer a discount nor did I ask ,because, that’s not me , things happen. Never received any reply from the email 🤷♀️ When I got my credit card bill, I see an extra charge for $50. Called the Inn today 6/29/24 and was informed that ‘I stole all the towels’. I am BEYOND upset. Not even about the $50,but neither my husband nor I take things that don’t belong to us ,let alone, thin used towels from a hotel. I was refused a refund of my $50 so I asked about a discount on the un clean tub….the owners reply was “you never asked for a discount “ No, I didn’t, because that’s just not me ,I understand things get over looked . He still refused to refund my $50 . I’m not sure how their staff over looked all the wet dirty towels I thoughtfully gathered up and put in the bath tub before we left. Sad, because this was a nice little hotel that on the way home said we stay at again ,because we liked the area so much we talked about a return trip. We have stayed at Quality Inn in Beckely WV for many years and many trips(a dozen or more ) never had this happen. Also noted the $50 was charged prior to the charge for my room so no way (if towels were missing) they’d have known that within minutes of us leaving .Super disappointed! 😔 this is the first time I’ve ever had to write a bad review , I feel actually bad doing it ,but it’s the principle of the thing. Gheesh! IF I were the type of person to take things it would have been one of the fabulous pillows we slpet on. Becuase those were amazing! From now when I stay anywhere Im bringing my wet dirty towels to the front desk upon check out !
