Hotel Grand Sabarees is conveniently loacted with close proximity to the Railway station, good vegetarian restaurants and Meenakshi temple. The rooms are very well maintained and clean. The pricing is very reasonable. The staff are very courteous and try their best to help the guests feel comfortable. They even accommodated our request for an early check-in by an hour. The rooms are small and compact, nealy maintained and the bathrooms are also maintained very clean. Hot water is available 24 hours. Food from outside is allowed to be taken to the rooms - no in house restaurant is available - however, some good restaurants are available in close proximity. The railway station is walkable and so is the bus stand. We would prefer this stay when we travel to Madurai.

The ***ager of the restaurant was kind, but I ordered a local beer, but they brought an imported beer without explanation and drank it as if it were local. Of course, the fees are outrageous. -I hope the staff's order service will be as communicated with the customer. The overall service was good. I had an oil massage at the spa, but the masseuse's skills were too weak. Hello, I went with a friend to Madurai & stayed for 2 nights in Hotel J C Residency. We had a wonderful stay there. The hotel is very neat & clean. The staff is very helpful & courteous. The room service & the restaurant service is excellent. Mr G Balajiraman & Mr Jesus Das were very prompt in catering to our requirements. The reception staff was professional in answering our queries & in helping us. I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone who plans to visit Madurai.

Avea is a modern style guesthouse. All facilities such as a hot shower, AC and WiFi worked well. The bed was comfortable. Towel and soap, toiletpaper all routinely provided. The accommodation is kept very clean. Drinking water and boiling water to make your own coffee or tea is included. Staff want to give good service to the guest. It is not a place where you just get a room for a certain time and that is it. The location is not directly in the city center, but in Anna Nagar which means you have to deal with rickshaw drivers. Staff will assist you. I walked up and down to town and the bus stations. Arappalayam bus stand (Munnar, Coimbatore destinations) is 6 km away. Mattuthavani bus station (Chennai destination) is at a distance of 3 km. Keep in mind Madurai city center is very congested (narrow streets with a lot of noise and exhaust fumes). Anna Nagar is where the city middle class lives. It is more quiet and restaurants are of better standards. Stayed four days.

I am staying here right now, after leaving Chennai and the Leela Palace. Huge difference which is expected. In Madurai, there are basically no other options, if you want consistency, a newish hotel, a well-known brand (again, consistency), and on-site dining options. That’s why we chose this hotel. The hotel common areas are impressive and beautiful. The staff is extremely helpful. They arranged a great tour with guide, for the Temple, which is a must! Ask for VJ! Rooms: They are very tired and pretty beaten up, probably because there are no real options here. They are simple, nice and the shower has great pressure. You’ll need that with the heat. Restaurant/Common Areas: pretty good. Excellent service. They will get you whatever you need. also very clean and spacious. Impressive lobby, as Courtyard in the US is definitely not like this! Location: traffic is everywhere in India. But this location is pretty ideal for the Temple. It’s a decent 40 min ride from the airport. It’s very secure with pool, and fun kind of random on site bar (where I am now) and delish drinks too. All in all, this Hotel is the only choice if you want consistent cleanliness with some luxury in Madurai. It’s also very reasonable.
