If you can't stand the congestion and air pollution in the city, go to the countryside in northern Thailand to rest. It is about a 30-minute drive from the old town of Chiang Mai. It is recommended for those who have transportation. If there is no transportation, it is recommended for those who want to participate in tiger and elephant tours. It’s really comfortable to stay in the swimming pool after having a daily schedule around. It’s perfect for families who just want to relax and have children. Check in directly and don’t go anywhere. The children have a great time in the swimming pool. The host can help prepare food. . There are village stalls within a five-minute walk. The park is designed with careful planting and the animals are well taken care of.

Love this hotel, new, clean, medium sized hotel. 3 of us stayed in a good size double story room! It’s only 5-10 mins drive from the city and they offer a great spread for hotel breakfast & my favourite is the mini cafe which they open every morning, even if it’s just to serve 2-3 guests with latte or americano coffee options. Must say they really put heart into the work they do. Every single staff there works hand in hand to provide great service. Will be back!

The hotel is located quite deep from the main road. If you don't have your own car, it will be very inconvenient. There is no convenience store in the neighborhood at all. The hotel tried to arrange it as a Japanese style, but it is not really Japanese. The similar part is the Japanese-style toilet in the room. Including in the common toilet (although the cleanliness needs to be improved a little), the onsen room is still not the real hot spring water, just warm. only, the breakfast is very small and the taste is very average.there are few staff.informing about the bedside lights failure.so no one came to fix it.

Proud Phu Fah was neat to stay at, but difficult for exploring Chiang Mai. We enjoyed feeling like we were staying in the jungle, and the room was clean and well-kept. There were three breakfast options, including one American breakfast, and the staff at the restaurant were especially pleasant. We were glad to have access to a pool, although it was a little chilly, even with pretty warm weather. In hindsight, we should have stayed closer to the city since we wanted to spend most of our time exploring Chiang Mai. There was a hotel driver available for an extra cost (1000 baht for a 1-way trip) who was very kind and flexible with our desires to go to the city. Once in the city, we had an easy time finding a Grab (like Uber) driver back to the hotel for a smaller cost. However, being about an hour away from the Old Town part of the city made for longer days. Overall, Proud Phu Fah would be a great place to stay if you are looking to hang out at the hotel most of the time! If you are wanting to explore Chiang Mai and go on excursions to an elephant sanctuary, the sticky waterfall, or Doi Inthanon, you're probably better off staying in the city instead!

This is excellent hotel that I’ve ever stayed, the hotel stuffs are weak in English though. They are very hospitable and showcasing as the land of smile.
From the point of cleanliness, rooms are shiny and bright.
The most awesome thing is pet friendly. So I am considering to stay again in this hotel.

This is an old hotel, so the rooms are never dehumidified, the bedding and duvets are always damp, and there is an unpleasant musty smell when you enter the room.
The staff is still friendly and good, but the breakfast selection is far below 5-star standards and tasteless. Most of the guests are Korean families and the pool is understaffed, making it embarrassing to ask for towels or other requests. It's time to let remove this hotel for my hotels list.

AAmanda MThis was one of my favorite resorts in Chiang Mai that my husband and family stayed. The staff is so kind and professional. The check in process was smooth and I loved the welcome gift and tea they provided as well as the treats they left in our room while we were out. The Japanese aesthetic is so beautiful against the mountain backdrop and surrounding farms of northern Thailand. I really felt like this resort paid respectful tribute to Japanese culture especially in the cuisine. My husband is a chef and we were blown away by how tasty and accurate each dish created was from the miso soup and sushi to the lamb shank over mashed potatoes. The culinary team at Onsen at Moncham are truly masters of their craft. Last, I loved the private dual-gender onsen experience and appreciated that upon check in, the staff helped you book your bath and dinner immediately. The only complaint I have is there were quite a bit of mosquitoes in our room. I think the screen doors may have gaps between them that these little guys can come through. In the evening they were really nibbling at us. Overall, it wasn’t a deal breaker and I cannot wait to return to this gem.
GGuest UserThe staff is very nice though maybe a bit of communication problem.. the breakfast was nice I really liked the porridge. The view was great too.. could get abit hot in the day as the sun hit the dome directly but it’s cold at night. Pick and eat oranges, fresh orange juice!
Do arrange for transport to and fro as grab or taxi don’t go up the mountain.!
JJessie.lymingA place far far away from town and also Mon Jam. I was planning to stay 1 night in Mon Jam actually, however I didn’t noticed the homestay is another mountain from Mon Jam (called Pong Yaeng) which was Trip.com suggested to me when I search for hotels of Mon Jam.
I booked it for family trip, we called the Grab to send us to there so that we can check in and drop the bags first. I must to say, the way to get to the homestay was quite thrilling cause the last section of the way were rugged mountain road, luckily the driver was expertly to send us there safely.
After we settled down and want to go out to Mon Jam for sightseeing, there were no car to pick us up through Grab cause we were too far away from town. Although the host had help us to ask for the ride, there was no reply too. Even if yes, it cost around 400-500 THB which was very expensive tho. So we were stuck in the homestay to having the peace and silence. Luckily we can still order food from the host when we feeling hungry, having the meal with the mountain view and BBQ+hotpot for dinner were also some good experiences here.
Actually the place was quite good and the host was very nice, I’m sure there would be a good place to stay if you are not concerned about the location and looking for some peaceful stay. But I would strongly recommend you to rent a car, motorbike or even a driver, just in case you want to go somewhere else for sightseeing. Or you can go to play or sightseeing before going to the homestay, it’s all up to you😉
GGuest UserThis resort was a dream! Such quiet, beautiful views. Stunning scenery and amazing food. The villa was incredible, with a personal swimming pool and the decor was traditional Thai which is exactly what I had hoped for! The service was incredible and above and beyond! My partner had a tooth problem on our 2nd day, and they quickly found us a dentist in downtown Chiang Mai. I have already suggested this property to so many family, friends, and colleagues and will definitely return myself.
CCynthiaInteresting experience where we had dinner (bbq) and breakfast delivered to our room. View was great from the balcony. Room was clean.
Only downside was there was no amenities surrounding after sunset. So make sure to have extra food for those who require supper. Also, be prepared to live with some insects or flies that flew in from the nature.
We loved staring at the greenery and breathing in the natural fresh air, which we can’t get the experience in the city. A good getaway from the bustling city life.
Highly recommend for those looking for such experience
GGuest UserThis was our third time at Mae Sa valley. It is such a special place. We travel extensively and I consider this to be one of the most beautiful spots in the world. It had not changed a bit in 5 years, maybe perhaps the gardens got more beautiful. The setting: The gardens here are looked after so well. There are several gardeners at work the whole time. The view is breath-taking and stunning with a fast flowing river at the bottom. The manageress, Ai, is very good at her job, speaks amazing English (which is not a given in Thailand) and is very intuitive. Last time we stayed in one of the cheaper rooms up the top which had the advantage of an amazing view over the whole valley. The rooms are a bit basic but you get what you pay for. We upgraded to what they call a suite this time and it was amazing. I cannot describe the attention to detail (murals on the walls, door handles in animal shapes etc.) I discovered something new every time I looked. Next time we will go for the suite suite! These rooms are closer to the river which is nice but the river is loud. It is quite well insulated in the bedroom so you don't hear it. The area: There is surprisingly a lot in the way of tourist attractions here (botanic gardens with canopy walks, insect farm, elephant farm) but not much in the way of restaurants. Bring snacks. Of course, this is not for everyone. If you are mobility impaired this will not work for you as too many steps. As you are in nature there are a lot of insects and it is humid and you get a damp smell from the river. Also, breakfast is very basic (but the view makes up for it!) All said, this place is special and has to be seen.
LLalaLaBlueThe rooms are clean, quiet. The breakfast was delicious. The atmosphere is very good, the weather is not too cold or cold. If there is a chance to come back again Coming with a couple is very romantic ☀️☀️
Jjirasuttiroj-There are 2 hole plugs in the room
-No air conditioning, but the air is cool
-Tea, coffee, the room does not have a kettle, there is a hall in the center.
-If more than 3 guests think more (children think), a regular buffet breakfast that can accommodate 2 people
-If you go in winter, there will be less parking because there are a lot of guests
-Few employees and inadequate service
-Wifi available only in the central restaurant
SSuphalak SupalakThe bedroom and bathroom are very good. Good atmosphere 😘 In the evening, sit and eat grilled pork / listen to the crickets singing. In the morning, sit and sip coffee.
MMr travelerThe place to stay is close to tourist attractions, very good location, good atmosphere, convenient transportation, has a 100 million baht view, unobstructed view, delicious food for every meal, affordable price, there are menus to choose from in many styles, excellent safety.
