This hotel is a great place to stay, from check-in to check -out it was perfect. The staff are fantastic and work tirelessly, the room was clean and had everything required. The food is fantastic Breakfast before long walks and evening meal after the walks, as good as anywhere I have had in the UK (especially since Covid - everywhere cutting corners - NOT here), and I travel a lot with work so have can be sure of it. The menu has loads on offer - something for everyone and the prices are fantastic. Whilst we were staying I did notice this place was featured in the Telegraph news paper getting some well deserved press as a top 10 place worth travelling for - check out the link below.

Came for dinner as a family and we had a great time and a great meal. Lovely outside setting with the benefit of heat lamps for chilly evenings. Chips are delicious, kids menu is really good value for money and brilliant quality. Would not hesitate to come back on our next trip, well worth it.

An exceptional experience from the moment we stepped inside. This place really is top-tier. As someone who has eaten all over the world, this really impressed me. The staff were just fantastic, and the food was unbelievable quality… not to mention the huge portions. Great value for money too, and a lovely atmosphere throughout the establishment. We can’t wait to come back already, and it hasn’t even been 24 hours!

Wow how lucky I was to find this hidden gem. We were only away for one night and I found this Hotel on line and booked it. I was asked for an arrival time and we arrived early our room was not ready so we had a drink in the bar and then to the room, the staff were really apologetic even though it was not there fault. The room clean and tidy could do with a bit of upgrading (Room 5) there were a few cracks in the ceiling and the hot water took a while to come through, but neither of these things were an issue to us. My wife had a rest and i went back down to the bar the staff were all so friendly asking a few times if everything was okay. I booked a table for 8.00 pm so after a shower and a change we went back down to the bar intending on having a drink before the meal. When asked if we had a table booked by the new gentleman on the bar we told him the time and he spoke to someone and we were seated ready to eat, which was good for me as Leeds united were on sky at 8.00, not that my wife was too happy. The meal was gorgeous i intended having a pudding but could not eat my main course Gammon my wife had the chicken and she said it was so moist and tasty. I am sorry I cannot remember all the staffs names but a big thank you to them all, the only one i remember was Paddy (strange name for a Welshman) but I had a real laugh with him all through the evening. Now breakfast not a lot to say Fantastic i will leave it there the French waitress was so polite and helpful as were all the staff, the chefs we never met I think are very skilled. A big thank you to you all and we will be back. Michael and Jacky Green. 23/02/2024.

Went to The Grapes for a meal while having a short break in Porthmadoc. Very impressive menu catering for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Plenty of options for non meat eaters which makes a change. The food was excellent and my partner said her vegetable lasagne was possibly the best she'd ever tasted. Staff were really friendly and happy to chat. All round an excellent experience and will definitely return in the not to distant future

This place deserves a 5. Great food. Great staff great prices. We’ve eaten at the Grapes many times. Always enjoyed it. We were there for their Sunday carvery yesterday. Excellent choice of veg and all cooked well.I do like the owners sense of humour when he answers the reviews.

We stayed in cottage no.2 which is very basic for the price and could be cleaned better e.g. by dusting! A thorough deep clean would be benefitial. A general decor upgrade is required. All furniture is very tired and the shower tray seal needs replacing. Our daughter stayed in the main building where the room was very nice. However, being above the bar it was noisy. The food was excellent. Staff were pleasant and the service was good.
