Was in town for a ski weekend booking this room just for two nights. We prepaid and Wish we hadn’t. I questioned my choice of hotels the moment we walked in. The reception area had a musty smell, poor lighting, all the snack shelves were completely empty, very Unwelcoming and dirty. I received my key to the room and upon walking into my room, I noticed broken hallway lighting, disabled smoke detectors with wires hanging from the ceiling and a propane smell. When I walked into our actual room, the lamp fixtures, room hadn’t been cleaned and it had a strange smell. There were broken tile in the bathroom , no hot water and stains all over the sheets. At this point, I would’ve left and gone somewhere else however it was extremely late and when we were checking in, there was a lady from the hotel across the street that was looking for a new room because her hotel did not even have heat. I returned back to the office to let them know the room conditions. I let them know that I would not be staying the second night and would be checking out first thing in the morning by 7 AM and requesting a refund for the second evening. Which he replied that he was new and he had to check with the owner. Also, I asked him for a new set of bedsheets. The front desk person and myself took bedsheets back to my room. While we walked back to my room, I told him I smelled propane and he agreed. The office worker knocked on a hotel door, four doors down from mine and asked a man who clearly lived there “Hey are you cooking” he said no and came with us to change my sheets. The office worker then stopped at another hotel door that was open yelled a ladies’s name who clearly also work/lives there “are you cooking and she said yes. This lady also came to my room to vacuum and clean. I found the situation be very disturbing after a long day of travel with my family, waiting for them to ALL be in the room to clean it at almost midnight. My family and I actually left before the sun ever come because we didn’t feel safe with a gas smell and not any smoke detector's. I called back by 9 o’clock the next morning to remind them that I would not be staying there that evening and to make sure that they process my request. I was then told that the owner would be contacting me which never happened. He apparently would be out until the following Monday. I again tried to call Monday which I was told he was on vacation. I have left countless messages with no reply and sadly, no refund. We have reported this establishment to Wyndham thankfully, they are investigating and at present moment trying to get us our refund back. This hotel is not advertised correctly, management will not contact you back and safety is not a priority.
