Holiday Inn Maidenhead/Windsor

We went to this Toby inn on Monday 18th September at 1950 hrs and were informed that they only had turkey available on the carvery, as no delivery c comes on a Monday. This was not want we wanted. Surely they should make sure they have a choice. We left and went to the Toby Inn at Old Windsor and had a good choice and good service.

My wife often uses this hotel for meetings over coffee or lunch. These people decided to start charging for parking. She failed to see the machine and received a bill for £100 for not displaying a ticket. This hotel is outside the town centre and has an enormous car park which we have never seen more than half full. How cynical !! Needless to say, won’t be back. Try Fredericks hotel just down the road, they don’t charge for parking and is a much nicer place.

Checked in as was told my last name was "foreign", which is was unbelievably rude and racist. Then after some more comments about my "foreign last name" by the check-in staff, she tried to check us in. We pre-payed for the hotel and was told the payment hasn't gone through and was asked to pay again. Explained that I had paid and I can see the payment has gone through and every time I use Holiday Inns this seems to happen. Then I was told that ******* or *********** do this all time - don't pay the hotel until the day of check-out. So we could sort that out tomorrow and didn't have to pay. I have had this issue many times before with Holiday Inns, where I have pre-paid and asked to pay again at check-in. Paying twice then having to contact their Customer Services to get a refund. I wonder if this is a company policy so they can double-dip into payments. Or so they can refund the ******* / *********** payment and likely receive 1% or 2% more from the booking. The room was then clean and fine. No complaints there. After checking out the next day and before leaving we decided to use the pool and gym. At the pool, we were rudely told we needed to bring towels from the room to the pool. A policy I don't understand why they do apart from laziest from the poolside staff having to store and clean towels. This also during a pandemic is very unhygienic having customers bring likey used towels down the pool and left on the poolside chairs. I explained we had just checked out and the member of staff did find us two towels with a lot of huffing and puffing. During the swim, I saw the same unwilling member of staff acting rude to other customers who were using the pool over a minor issue with the hot tub. The hotel is in a nice location and has good facilities, but the staff totally let down stay and I wouldn't stay again until the staff is changed. I did try and contact their Head Office about this but their website goes around and around in a loop and I can't find an email address to contact someone about this.

We enjoyed our stay here as part of a legoland treat for our sons 5th birthday. The staff were fantastic, friendly and and very kind. The kids loved the pool. The facilities were clean and we felt safely protected with the covid protocols they had in place. Again the staff were fantastic and we will definitely stay here again.

I Have stayed in a few Holiday inn with mixed reviews but I really enjoyed my stay here. From the outside it looks a bit tired as a lot of them do but once inside I was pleasantly surprised . Staff very welcoming and friendly . Room very clean and tidy , the bed was one of the softest and most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for a while . Breakfast excellent best yet for a holiday in well managed by the young man on there credit to him and a good choice to eat which was a nice surprise .3 types of eggs and fresh bread you cut yourself rather than the usual cardboard they serve . Didn’t use the gym but look fairly decent and there’s a pool . Plenty of parking and close to town . I really a very pleasant stay would go back

Clean and great location.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is was lovely. Unfortunately there seemed to be no regard at all from 90% of the others guests to follow the mask rules and no one was enforcing it. My husband and I couldn’t wait to get out for the breakfast area as it was extremely busy and barely a face mask in sight (apart from the staff who all wore masks). We felt extremely uncomfortable. The hotel was also very expensive for state of the exterior building and the bed was very small.

The hotel is closing to guests in order to take in refugees so not such a smooth operation. Not the fault of staff who were all friendly and helpful. Full marks to Kamman who kept bar open after his shift ended for late revellers. We were attending a wedding nearby so didn’t require full facilities. Breakfast ok but very busy.

The service is really poor and will not stay there again.
