Golden Sands on the Beach - Absolute Beachfront Apartments

The location is amazing. Front desk service great. For what we paid our room was pretty tired ! As are the facilities……but the location is brilliant…. Our fridge stunk of fish residue which is a shame it didn’t get picked up by the cleaners and equally a shame that guests would think this is acceptable to leave for someone else

We've visited this property a few times since 2002 and it doesn't disappoint. A well-managed property away from the bustle of Surfers Paradise which is exceptional for families with young children also. Staff are friendly and parking very easy.

The unit was comfy and in a great position. Staff friendly.

Good location - surf club just up road close to Tedder ave

Booked this beach apartment online for a break from Victoria COVID restrictions. Easy to book online, received a great price and the front desk managers were very helpful. Our 7th floor apartment had a huge picture window facing the sea that when you sat on the couch you felt like you were in the ocean. The balcony (facing south end/Surfers Paradise) was small but it was good for opening the door to the sea air. The living area was large and the kitchen fully stocked with cutlery, dishes, pots and pans. Car parking was easy and it was a short walk to many restaurants and cafes in Tedder Avenue. The boardwalk along the sea goes for quite a distance so we had lovely walks every morning. Our hot water service broke on the 3rd day and they graciously moved us to a beautifully furnished 11th floor unit with a north facing balcony that captured the morning sun. Although it didn’t have the large picture window facing the sea, you could sit on the balcony and see the beach out towards SeaWorld. We found a great local fish and chips shop called Pete’s where you could sit outside and see the boats in the marina. Surf Club is next door and they had a great menu too. Wonderful staff, great location and we will definitely go back.

We have stayed at Golden Sands many times over the past decade or so and love the true beachfront location. Our preferred apartment is 503, which is a beautifully refurbished 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. It has an amazing view, quality furniture, new full kitchen with stone bench top and stainless steel Smeg appliances (it also has a Nespresso machine, which the other apartments I have stayed in there don’t have) and 2 luxe bathrooms (one with a freestanding bath) and the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The sound system and the 3 televisions are a nice touch. Love the concrete floor in the living areas and the soft carpet in the bedrooms. So good to have air con in the living area and both bedrooms, as well as a full laundry with washer, dryer and tub. It was fantastic to visit again after a couple of years to see that the complex has been completely modernised. It has been repainted, new balcony railings and tiles and the common areas have all been upgraded. The tennis court and pool areas have also been modernised. The place looks brand new! The managers Barbara and Ernie really couldn’t do enough for us and keep the place spotlessly clean and the gardens manicured. This is deluxe accomodation in a first rate location, with no roads to cross and a private stairway to the beach. Also no road noise and no cranes (there is a lot of construction going on in Main Beach). I have booked our next stay at Golden Sands already and can’t wait to go back!
