The place is conveniently located near Burgos street, with lots of coffee shops, restaurants, and bars nearby. The room is spacious but simple, with a bood bad mattress but leaking air conditioner and a clogged shower. Even though I let the cleaners know about the issue, they didn't do anything to remedy the issue.
But the most disappointing thing, and the reason why I would not recommend the place to anyone, is the lack of hospitality. During check-in, I was asked to pay the 3,000 pesos deposit. I asked them to let me in the room first, to leave my luggage, take a shower, and then I would go to look for an ATM. This is to me the common sense procedure (after a long and extenuating flight, one doesn't want to take the luggage and go through the tropical heat to look for a bank) and this is what I did at each of the hotels I booked in other parts of Asia. However, the receptionist did not agree to let me in without leaving the passport with him until paying the deposit. When a person has booked three nights and has paid over four times the value of the deposit, this lack of trust is deeply offensive.
