Hotel Durban

The property's architecture is interesting. It looks like a small museum or art gallery. We stayed in a suite, which was nice and cozy, but it didn't have any windows so it felt a bit claustrophobic.

Hotel Durban is in the heart of Poblacion area in Makati in a side street near all bars , clubs and reastaurants. Standard rooms are basic with adequate size and basic amenities , bed is comfortable , air on is working well , safe is big enough for laptops and all your valuables , there’s a fridge and the TV has a surprising choice of international and local channels (all with good definition , this is not always the case in other more expensive hotels in this area). Some other traveler commented that WiFi wasn’t stable but we never experienced any issue during our 2 days stay. Most rooms are windowless , this is an advantage as you can’t hear anything from Poblacion’s busy street life, on the other side the room does are thin so if there are noisy people on the corridors you can notice them easily (also because otherwise the ambient is really peaceful). Bathroom is ok with basic amenities (a dispenser for shampoo and one for shower gel) , but has small shower cabins with doors opening inwards which make it difficult for normal people to close the door once inside , so we had to shower with open shower cabin which is ok. All the staff from reception , housekeeping, up to hotel manager is very nice , helpful , and always in a good mood. Just as a recap , hotel is nice , absolutely clean , no frill but with all important amenities and services. Definitely the best budget option in this area!

The hotel website indicated the presence of a full restaurant which was closed during my stay. There was constant noise from refurbishments ( hammering, drilling & grinding) including Sunday which often went on until 9pm. There are no in room tea/coffee facilities and and morning coffee faculties were also unavailable. I found a bedbug in my room. I literally only reserved this Hotel because of the restaurant and in my opinion there has been a fundamental breach of contract requiring a full refund. I will write a full and detailed complaint about this place shortly

Clean and friendly hotel only a stones throw from all the nightlife in P Burgos. Great value for money
