I visited with my Mum to attend a wedding at a nearby venue. We had a room with a sea view, which was amazing. The location really is stunning and having Mount Edgecombe country park a few steps from the door is definitely a plus! The staff were super friendly, and always smiling. The pub is really quaint, the breakfast and one evening meal we had there was really good. There were just a couple of disappointing bits. There was a plumbing problem with the loo, the flush was slow and we came in a couple of times to find nasties down there… we reported it several times but it was not rectified. After a 8 hour journey from home, we desperately wanted a cuppa. We went to make one to find the cups were really dirty. Some replacements were brought up to us straight away but for the price it is something that should be checked. The TV remote didn’t work properly so you had to get up to change the channel or volume each time. When we left for the wedding, we left the (very lovely!) cleaning lady tending to our room. We arrived back at nearly midnight, to find the room unlocked, the lights on and the windows open. Which meant at midnight we were killing midges with a can of deodorant. She was lovely and we didn’t want to get her in trouble but it was a bit concerning. We would still come back as apparently new management are doing a refurb in January.
