Llevamos varios años yendo tanto en Semana Santa como en verano, y la razón es que siempre estamos muy cómodos en el hotel, el trato es cercano y muy familiar y estamos como en casa. El servicio de animación con Cristina y Marta es excepcional, nuestras hijas pequeñas siempre se quieren quedar (y es un gran descanso para los padres). Volveremos pronto!

We can’t fault this hotel , friendly staff , nice big rooms , lovely breakfast ( English and continental ), great pool and poolside area , bus stop just outside the hotel takes you to large designer shopping area or into Malaga , we will definitely be going back.

Sol Guadalmar was perfect for our first family holiday with my 9-month granddaughter. We have been to Málaga many times but always stayed in the centre. Sol Guadalmar offered us something different, set in a quiet residential area close to the airport but next to beaches and Guadalhorce Nature Reserve. The hotel, facilities, room, staff and food were fantastic. A short taxi ride (6 euros) to Plaza Mayor takes you to the Malaga-Fuengirola train line as well as an amazing shopping and food experience. Would definitely recommend a stay in Sol Guadalmar

We had a wonderful vacation in Sol Guadalmar, the hotel was very good, just next to the beach, the staff were really nice and the kids loved the kids club activities that were free and the animateurs were friendly. The breakfast and dinner buffet were really good and with many options. I highly recommend it especially for a family.

Although this hotel is only a short taxi ride from the airport we were not disturbed by the airplanes arriving and departing. The hotel in the communal areas are up to date and well appointed, however the bedrooms are a little tired and could benefit from an upgrade. Our beds were on wheels and constantly moved! They were comfortable though. The chairs in the room were hard and uncomfortable. We had a kettle and cups in the room but the coffee was never replenished, but there were sachets in the breakfast room, which we made use of. The pool area was clean and plenty of sun beds. I’m not sure this would be the case in the height of summer. There was a lifeguard on duty. There was live entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the bar. Drinks were the usual hotel inflated prices but they had a good selection. The beaches were good and clean also with a lifeguard. There are a few restaurants around ( some of which were not open during our stay) but two that we would recommend is Tick Tack and the Italian frascati were our favourites. There was also a beach restaurant only open noon til 6pm at this time of the year, full of locals but the food and drinks were plentiful and good value.

Room and hotel were spacious and clean. All staff were pleasant and amenable. The best part for our family about the hotel was the kids club ran by Hugo and Carmen Thursday to Monday. To quote our 10 year old - “Hugo can never make it unfun”. We enjoyed the location being just outside of Malaga so relaxing on the days we wanted it to be but only a bus journey (€1.40 each) into the centre for the hustle and bustle of city life. Not far from the hotel is a huge designer outlet. Lots of sporting brands present there; Nike, NB, Adidas, Puma, Asiscs. Well worth a visit for a bargain. The temp has also been ideal for us ranging from 22-27c

A lovely hotel in a quiet location. Staff were so friendly and attentive. We loved the indoor pool as it was a little too cold to use the outside pool in April. Bus stops outside the hotel for Malaga, only costs €1.40 each way. We are all vegetarian and had no issues with the hotel food. All areas were clean and well kept.

Reservamos uma noite neste hotel durante uma estadia de 7 dias pelo sul de Espanha. Na receção, fomos muito bem recebidos pela Sónia, que nos fez sentir em casa, talvez o aspeto de que mais gostamos neste hotel. A partir do momento em que fizemos o check-in, tudo começou, lamentavelmente, a piorar. O quarto, com vista mar, apesar de espaçoso e limpo, tinha um dos piores isolamentos acústicos que algum dia experienciei em um hotel: o ruído exterior faz-se completamente transportar para o interior do quarto, o que em um dia de vento e com crianças no quarto, não foi mesmo nada agradável. As camas eram extremamente desconfortáveis, o mobiliário antigo, sempre que nos virávamos rangia, o que não nos permitiu descansar. A par disto, o pequeno-almoço, que era abundante e variado, pecava em qualidade e frescura. Uma funcionária do buffet andava a fiscalizar a sala e a controlar o que os clientes comiam, chegando a abordá-los, o que chegou a ser constrangedor de assistir. Enfim, uma experiência nada positiva, que não esperava encontrar num hotel Meliã de 4 estrelas, que nos leva a concluir que o hotel não se coaduna em nada com um serviço desta categoria. Não recomendaria este hotel.
