Excellent hotel close to the beach and also very convenient for the bus stop for Heraklion and the airport. Very reach breakfast and friendly staff. Comfortable beds and very clean rooms. Everything you might need is at walking distance!!!

The hotel does not correspond to 3*. The rooms are small and dark, bedding and towels are not changed even once a week, the Internet speed is poor. The shower splashes in all directions, the toilet leaks. I would especially like to mention breakfast - you can assume that there is none. Hot coffee and boiling water for breakfast. I have never seen such a breakfast either in Europe or in Asia. I don't recommend it. I really regretted that I saved a little and chose this hotel. There are better options right next door and not much more expensive.

Disgusting greedy manager! Reading the reviews before the trip, I was positive, because I thought that these were all the machinations of competitors or unnecessary exaggerations of the guests. But no, the manager really doesn’t hear any of your requests: in the dining room he closed the exit to the open veranda, thus, in conditions of an epidemic, everyone is forced to sit tightly at tables in a closed, unventilated and unair-conditioned room. The distance between tables is less than 1.5 m. The breakfast itself is disgusting: there is no hot food, porridge or omelette. There is no hot milk either. There is nothing to feed the children; the choice for adults is very limited. It’s good that we only had breakfast; they say that lunch and dinner are served with no choice at all. There is no parking at the hotel. There are 8 sun loungers throughout the hotel, which must be returned to their place after use: this is especially convenient for women and children. Nobody cleans the pool, they just fill it with chlorine tablets. Every morning around 5-6 am the air conditioning in the room mysteriously turns off. The chairs and tables are dusty and dirty; you need to sit on them carefully in clean clothes. Custom reviews praise his own Dionysos tavern - I don’t recommend it either, the prices are the same as everywhere else, and the portions are ordinary. If your lunch or dinner is not included, you can try different food every day in different taverns and cafes and will be pleasantly surprised by the delicious variety of food, hospitality and friendliness of the ordinary people of Crete. And the manager of this hotel is hardly a resident of Crete and does not at all look like a friendly Greek.

Kontroluje wszystko i wszystkich, zaś personel zastraszony i znerwicowany. Wyżywienie fatalne, szwedzki bufet to fikcja. Ponieważ bagaż pozostawał bez jakiegokolwiek dozoru, Pan - ten od klimatyzacji -, zaproponował, by umieścić go w jego pokoju.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Little and bad food, dirty rooms and the hotel in general, the bath towels were changed every 3 days. Behavior from the owner and employees awful no smile and politeness. I would never stay in this shack again!!

The Cretan cuisine by the cook of this hotel is excellent!! I was delighted! The owners and the server team are friendly and attentive to your requests! Hotel near Heraklion. Room a little dated but perfect bedding! The only downside is that the air conditioning doesn't work!! So you have to have a fresh damp towel to fall asleep to! I spoke to management who told me that the air conditioning was new… ok! But I spent a night with the same temperature near Balos beach, the 16 degrees in this room were not those of Marirena hotel... an effort please be made for travelers who after a day in full sun would like to recover the night of fatigue… Thank you

This is my first time writing a review here to warn other people! I rested in this hotel in September 2022. The only advantage is the convenient location of the hotel. 3 minutes to the sea. Very close to Heraklion - you can get there for 1.5 euros by bus. And that’s all, then there are continuous minuses. The food is disgusting - even the locals have heard about it. They said that the owners buy the cheapest products. But the cook manages to spoil them so much that often they are simply impossible to eat. There is practically no fruit - during the week, at dinner twice, each person was given two! tiny pieces of unripe watermelon (let me remind you: this is Crete in September!!!). You can't ask yet! On other days, instead of watermelon, they also gave out a small piece of something sweet—not cake, not baklava. There are no soups. At the serving table there is a stern man who, with undisguised malice, watches every spoonful of what is put on the plate. The amount of food offered is minimal. By the way, they insistently ask you to clean up the dishes yourself. The room is classic. The hairdryer didn't work, but the reception desk gave us a portable one. The sink was leaking; by the time you washed your face, there was already a flood on the floor. They didn't fix it in a week. They just put my towel under the sink, but it didn’t save me from the flood. To turn on the air conditioner, you need to find a certain position of the balcony door: if you close it completely, the air conditioner does not work. There is a kettle in the room, but it was so “overgrown” with plaque that I didn’t want to use it. Cleaning is mediocre. Very rude manager. There is a swimming pool. You have to take the sunbeds yourself and clean them yourself after use. Next to the pool there is a slightly open sewer hatch - the smell is appropriate! This is the experience of staying in Amudar. Well, Crete is amazing as always! But not in this hotel
