The room was dimly lit and very small, the bathroom was clean. The soundproofing was poor, and we were woken up early when we left for the pier early in the morning.

Amazing stay at this hotel, upgraded room and it was fabulous. Cannot praise all of the staff enough for the service they gave us. We will be back. Thank you west highland hotel

The hotel felt very empty, run by a receptionist seemingly on her own. We’d been warned that the restaurant was closed that night but were able to get good food at the inn next door. The room was billed as being “cosy” and it certainly was that, but also up a lot of stairs. Main faults were a poor mattress and a lacklustre shower with low flow and variable water temperature. Breakfast at £16 per person is presumably priced to discourage participation. We got something better value on the ferry.

Really enjoyed my stay at The West Highland, while a little dated the room had everything needed. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and there is a fairly large car park. Breakfast was ok, though I’m generally not keen on buffet breakfasts. All in all its excellent value for money.

Firstly, the staff at The West Highland hotel are courteous, friendly and accommodating however, they are fighting an aging building that is crying out for some TLC, modernisation and basic repairs. The room we stayed in (17) was in dire need of refurbishment. The wallpaper was peeling, the bedding was tired, the bathroom sink was cracked and the bathroom fan when running made enough noise to wake the dead. On the positive side, the shower was powerful and the water easily temperature controlled. Turning to the hotel in general, the carpets throughout the bar area and particularly the stairs to the first floor are threadbare in several places. Chairs in the bar were way beyond their best with braiding hanging from their armrests. The staff obviously try hard, but the poor state of repairs let them down. We paid £130 per night for out two night stay. For that I would expect a higher standard of accommodation in general which means that I am unlikely to return.

We did not stay at the Hotel but simply used the bar and restaurant for an evening meal. The service was friendly and flawless. The choice of food was very good and the dishes were freshly prepared and tasty. The restaurant has a great view of the marina and the Isles of Skye and Eigg.

Absolutely fantastic customer service, friendly staff, family run, beautiful view from room 5, nice sitting area in front of the room's window, Cullen Skink was delicious in the restaurant, hotel location excellent for access to Isle of Skye, good wifi, comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated room. Duvets on bed where very soft. Bathrobes hanging for use. Complimentary cookies, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and water bottles in room.
