Fabulous and friendly staff. A huge asset.
Above the ground floor the hotel was pretty grim.
So uncared for it feels grubby. See pictures of the room, view and the only plug socket in the room (to use the kettle the entire kettle tray needed to be balanced on a chair infront of it)
Room hot with no fan and the noise that went on until after 1am by screeching young adults (unchecked by staff) meant that opening a window wasn’t an option. Very expensive for a hotel room that should be in the £40 bracket not over £100

I stayed in The Hibee recently as I was in town for a family event. I found it to be a very friendly place with clean, comfortable rooms and a comfy bed. My room overlooked the main street with McDonalds out my window so it was a little noisy at night with revellers on the street, but that's not the Hibees fault. There's a coach outside running it's engine early in the morning, again not the hotels fault but maybe ask for a room away from the front. The room itself wa ls fine with cool tudor style lattices windows Breakfast was really, really good. If you have the choice to add breakfast when booking then I'd say do it. Nice bar to relax in in the evening. Utterly beyond disgusted to learn only when I came on here to do the review that there is a pool and leisure centre as I was most certainly not told when checking in. Pity, but I have no idea why they didn't offer its use to me when I checked in.

Hotel needs total refurbishment,out dated, grubby, room a disgrace, furniture well worm and in v bad shape,water pressure useless, overall unsatisfactory Breakfast tasty but luke warm, staff friendly Check in staff not so friendly I don't recommend this hotel

Mum and I just had 2 great days in The Hi B. We've been many times, including Mum's 70th and her 80th birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊 🎂 party in November 2023. It's a fabulous friendly, local, welcoming hotel and we love it. We'll see ye again soon. Wonderful, friendly staff. Can't thank ye enough. Una xx

Stayed here 2 times in the past month, first stay was OK, everything went fine. However second time, check in took 15 minutes which was unnecessary after a long day we had- lady on reception desk didn’t really seem interested and made the whole process complicated. I have personally worked in management of 5* resorts in Ireland for years and hospitality definitely isn’t an easy job but you have to have customer service skills if you go for front facing roles. Other reception lady that welcomed us the first time - Emily, made check in and out a 3 minute job so kudos to her. Apart from that, wind is coming through windows so it can be loud and cold during the night. Location is very central with easy parking.

My family and I would have been regular customers of this establishment but a particular member of staff with higher authority at this place exhibited unprofessional behaviour and provided terrible service. I felt humiliated and disrespected by the individual.Such treatment is deplorable and completely unacceptable in a hospitality setting.I do not recommend this place to anyone seeking decent customer service.After my recent experience ,my family and I have decided not to return to this hotel in the future.

This hotel was a perfect stay for us. Great room with a lovely large bed. Beautiful food and the breakfast spread was fantastic. From reception, breakfast staff, bar staff to house keeping all the staff were lovely and friendly. We will definitely be back.
