Treated my friend to afternoon tea here as it was somewhere she’d always wanted to go. It was lovely. The tea itself was very good, particularly the deserts - yummy. Driving into the Abbey grounds is a delight as it’s such an amazing building, hard to believe that when I first moved to the area it was still occupied by nuns. Do have a wander about as the building is wonderful, even the inside of the nuns powder room is impressive. We plan to go back next summer, lounge outside and soak up the country air

The grand setting of the callow great hall , the grounds, the open and spacious pavilion speak for themselves and are just some of the things that tempted us to view Stanbrook Abbey and as soon as we stepped in and met the people, shoutout to Becca and Ellie, we knew it was the one for us and would be worth the 3 hour drive our friends and family would have to take to get there - given the compliments we received from our guests, they found it worth it! I can't express enough how professional everyone was not only on the day but throughout the planning process. They go above and beyond to give you a stress free and seamless experience and I can't thank the team enough for helping us have the wedding of our dreams. Just incredible!

Our Afternoon Tea was excellent with the most divine food and service. Gorgeous champagne and lovely staff. We highly recommend and look forward to returning. The setting is beautiful and of course and the hotel has a wonderful history to explore.

I cannot fault this hotel or the service we were given. It was exceptional. The hotel didn't appear to be too busy the evening that we stayed and we had a room upgrade.

We had a wonderful wedding at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel on 18th August 2024. The professionalism and organisational skills of the staff are second to non, they are experts in detail. Becca Francis, the organiser and Ellie Appwood, the events coordinator were efficient, thoughtful and very accommodating. The whole staff team at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel worked together to over a seamless experience and created a memorable day. All our guests were very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and how they went about their roles in an unobtrusive manor. Thank you, Stanbrook Abbey Hotel.

We had our wedding at Stanbrook Abbey a couple of weeks ago and the combination of the venue and staff gave us the most incredible day which we will remember for ever. The venue is beautiful and we chose to eat in the Callow Great Hall. The food and drink are some of the best. We loved the rural setting/location. Jodie was highly responsive and organised throughout the planning process which helped to make the arrangements come together. Clyde did the most amazing job the day before and on the day of the wedding making it come to life and be a success - he was passionate and extremely flexible. One downside / point of note that I was quite surprised by is no professional microphone system in the abbey. Personally I don’t think you can successfully hold a large wedding without one so you will need to sort this yourselves… we brought our own in at the last minute which just about did the job, but far from ideal. I’m summary, I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

We booked for lunch in George’s Bar. The food was fine and the service very pleasant but very slow. We had to wait far too long for our drinks and then another age for our food. When we finished our food we wanted to order coffees but there was no way the waitress was ever going to notice us or clear our table so my husband went up to the bar to order the coffees and he had to wait while she finished reading the rota! There were only 2 other tables occupied at the most so it’s not as if they were busy! Pleasant waitress but too inattentive. She should have been keeping an eye on the tables that were occupied!

We came for afternoon tea on a weekday in August, having never been before. The staff were very attentive and the afternoon tea was very good. We needed to walk the afternoon tea off and the staff were extra helpful, pointing out routes around the ground, interesting features, providing maps of the site and even unlocking the bell tower for some stunning views. We stayed for a G&T on their 2nd floor terrace and again the bar staff were very helpful and knew their stuff. Hope to be back for an overnight stay soon.
