Cliff House at Pikes Peak

The staff was professional and friendly. The PT Barnum bedroom did not have a working hot tub. The New Years Party was OUTSTANDING AND FUN!

What a great historic location. We could fault our recent stay at The cliff House from check in, to wait staff and the grounds. I have read comments about it being tired, I disagree, I didn't get that feeling at all. The place is old but the room was comfortable and large. The bed was great (especially after the incline). The restaurant was great and the bar was equally as good. It was lovely sitting outside besides the fire. Could be anymore closer to town Main Street. Would recommend and stay again. Thank you for a great stay.

Historic property taken over by Hilton and the extensive remodel is underway. Unfortunately, we were not informed of construction which is both interior and exterior, nor how it would impact our stay. Rooms were upgraded, nit by our request. Wonder if that had more to do with what rooms were not under construction. You cannot drop your bags from car to door, the driveway is being pavered. You cannot sit on the porch during the day. The porch is being painted. Found crumbs on the floor of my room and the drapes will not close properly to block light, they need to be rehung. I do not recommend staying there during construction. The wait staff at Cliff House restaurant (Matt) and the bar (Kelly) were very nice and professional. The food was very good at the restaurant.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. This is a beautiful, historic hotel. The staff was nice and always there to answer questions we had and gave good tips for sightseeing around town. This hotel has valet parking for a reasonable fee and we were always able to get our car without a long wait. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is undergoing some construction and renovations but that was outside from what I saw. While not the most aesthetically pleasing, I understand that it has to be done at some point and was pleased that it wasn’t noisy! There is also a great restaurant at this hotel. I recommend reservations to make sure you can eat when you want. Overall, great stay and I will definitely book again when we return.

This used to be a very nice hotel, but a change in management has reduced its quality. Prices have risen faster than inflation and many perks have been eliminated. Renovations have lowered the ambiance of the property. The long-standing breakfast buffet (included in room rates) has been eliminated, and the dinner menu is less interesting.

Absolutely love this property, but. Was very surprised when we stopped in for lunch and found it was undergoing major renovations. The drive & front of the property is currently removed, no furniture in the lobby, restaurant was closed when we stopped in for lunch on a trip from Denver. Staff said there were new owners and a top to bottom renovation is underway for the next 18 months. This is an awesome historic property with incredible staff and I look forward to seeing it updated. I do wish there was mention of the refurbishment on the web to avoid stopping in during construction.

Great hotel. Friendly service. Close to the heart of it all. Loved the porch. Could see the Manitou Incline feom it. Large spacious rooms. Submerged the history. Only gave it 4 stars because the food in both the main dining room and the tavern. It was not up to par with the rest of the hotel. I would still return

I booked a room at around 10 pm and showed up within the 20 minutes later. I was given a room that faced a brick wall. In addition the room had a terrible mildew smell that I couldn't take breathing for more than a few minutes. After requesting to change to a different room I was categorically denied a replacement even though the hotel was empty. I hauled my luggage up and down steep stairs and pushed a luggage cart through long hallways. Once my luggage was back in the car then the receptionist informed me that he'll upgrade my room. I requested to see the second room and one of the other hotel staff took me there. To no surprise the second room was just as stinky as the first one. The smell was gagging. I declined the substation and was told that I'll get a full refund and the general manager was supposed to approve it in the morning. It's been over 2 weeks and I'm still trying to get my refund. The manager declined my initial request stating that since I was given a substitution I don't deserve a refund which is absolutely not what the receptionist assured me the night I was there. It feels like these people are unprofessional and scam tourists any time they can.

The room was excellent. Service was great. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Location was walking distance. Valet parking was a little expensive.
