Puerto Azul Marbella

This is our second visit to Puerto Azul. This time we opted for a studio as the 1 bed was a lot more expensive. We were very dissapointed, room was dull, very tired,quite grubby. Linen was clean, otherwise we would not have kept the room. We returned to the apartments as they are in such a good position for bars, restaurants and beach. They really need to shut the rooms down and give them a makeover.

Side sea view was fabulous, as good as full sea view got the sun in the morning, lovely for a coffee on balcony or a glass of wine in evening, people watching on the promenade below or gazing out over the water at the big yachts . A little bit noisy due to some maintenance work, however was kept to a minimum so not too much disturbance for us. The JCB clearing the sand on the beach was noisier beeping at 5am. Friendly staff at reception and on the scirocco restaurant attached to the hotel. There was a very good set menu of 17€ which we had for lunch one of the days, there are also some lovely ( but expensive bars at the front of the hotel you can have lunch or a drink looking out to sea and people watching in full sun all day long. The pool at t(e back of the hotel doesn’t get the sun all day and you will need to move sun beds a few times , however the beach is t the front of the hotel, so not a big deal. The location is fantastic, a few streets behind the hotel there are multiple lovely restaurants, greta value tapas. Or you can walk promenade 5 minutes then take a left through the Dali sculptures through the beautiful park where the ****** is and yo7 are in the old town with lots of boutiques, flower laden balconies and cobbled streets with even more restaurants to chose from. I would recommend this property for the location. We were room 305.

Fabulous hotel on the beach. Stayed here for Christmas and it was just perfect, the staff were very helpful and rooms were spotless and very spacious. Will definitely be back soon! Close to everything, fab restaurants and coffee shops close by. Short walk to Marbella old town which is very pretty!

Recently, my wife and I stayed at Puorto Azul in Marbella. We do not go on vacation often and had booked the superiour room with extra large balcony and sea view for 1 week. After our arrival on Saturday, we were pleasantly surprised with the location and view of the room. My wife and I like to sleep but on Monday morning we received an early call from the front desk informing us that there would be plasterers on our balcony that day. We asked how long this work would take and were told that an attempt would be made to complete it in 1 day. On Tuesday morning there were again 3 plasterers plastering our balcony and we asked the front desk for clarification. We were told that the work would take all week and that there was no solution that could possibly allow us to just stay on our balcony during the day. In desperation and after being forced to spend the whole day in Marbella again, we again asked the reception on Wednesday for a solution but there was none and the work would last until Friday. A vacation is not fun if you have people walking around on your balcony all day. Especially not when you pay €250 a night for your stay. We asked through *********** if they could mediate but it was indicated that Puorto Azul does not have compensation when the stay is disappointing. In short: nice location, bad service and a ruined stay.
