We enjoyed our stay over all. The location is peaceful, quiet and wildlife is abundant. The furniture looked fairly new, the beds were comfortable and the unit was tastefully decorated. The cable has been disconnected but there are streaming services available if you use your own passwords. (We were not made aware of that tidbit). There was no shampoo/conditioner provided, and if you want salt/pepper, you will need to provide your own. If you enjoy hiking, make sure to head up to Blood Mountain or the other Appalachian trail areas.

It's your typical cabin in the woods. If you're expecting everything to be brand new and modern, stay someplace else. If you're looking for that true experience of being in the wilderness with all the necessities for your comfort, it's for you. It was very peaceful and private which we really liked. The pool facilities were nice, and the kids really enjoyed them. Went for a hike and a little fishing. Plan to return.

Never updated for 40 years, not worth the trade, musty smell, mold in bathrooms, worst beds, no view, Big Canoe accommodations are expensive you have to pay additional $20 per person to use the beach, gym, pool areas, no restaurants open half the week, you must go outside Big Canoe for shopping, restaurants, except Thursday-Saturday Don’t stay in this unit better off getting an Airbnb it’s cheaper better accommodations

Family vacation that has everything for everyone of all ages all in one place! So much to see and do and one week just isn't enough time. Fishing, hiking, boating, swimming and lounging just to name a few things. Grounds are clean and well maintained. I don't golf but enjoyed the grounds immensely.

The lake with beach could not be used. The units need to be upgraded. Refrigerator had no ice maker. Sofa bed was broken. Peeling paint on steps. No shampoo and one small bar of soap. When we needed an extra roll of toilet paper as we had 8 people in the unit we were told to supply our own. The children cut their feet in the pool as the bottom was rough. The fitness center and indoor pool was nice, but there was nothing there for children to do. No playground. The only store that was close to the unit was extremely expensive.

Our family was surprised and grateful for our stay at Big Canoe. We spent every day outside enjoying nature and grilled most nights with an amazing view to take in. The size of the unit made it so comfortable for our large family. The location was close to the start of the Appalachian Trail, Edge of the World Trail. and it is worth the drive to whitewater raft at the Ocoee River.

Some faults due to age with the unit. Restaurant (Black Bear Pub) had the entire kitchen crew walk out leaving them with no service on the one night I wanted it. View was lovely and it was the perfect time of year (maybe short of full foliage change by just a few days). 9 of the 27 holes not under repair.

Outdated furniture; Hard to find unit since no sign; Beware of Bears and spiders Unit was sufficient but outdated furniture; cushions on furniture were in poor shape; spider webs on the front door into unit upon arrival ; hard to find unit at night since no sign saying golf club villas and no street lights; signs posted beware of bears and sure enough one came around unit during the day. GCV is part of Big Canoe [over 8000 acres and has many complexes in it}.
