We stayed at this hotel two nights because we wanted to scuba dive in one of the best places in Cuba. The scuba diving was really amazing! It was my first dive ever and I am so grateful to the instructor Gerardo who was so kind and lovely with me! He really made me feel safe the whole time and I had a fantastic dive! So much so that I decided to go for a second round in the afternoon and was so happy to see he would be our instructor once again! THANKS GERARDO! Even while simply snorkeling ashore, one could see several different species of fishes of the most beautiful colors. It’s special! The hotel, well... It was our first experience in a state hotel after many casas particulares and the service is simply not comparable. The food was far from being good (but standard for a state hotel as we later discovered) and we didn’t really enjoy the many flies flying on and over it. We booked full board (and thank God because the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and the shop inside has limited opening hours), but we discovered the beverages (including water) were not included... The room and the bathroom were very spacious and mostly clean. We also had a nice balcony. The towels, however, seemed dirty. They had ugly red and brown stains on them (probably they are washed by hands and stains are hard to get rid of?) and we preferred not to use them. The hotel has both double storey cement houses and far more lovely wooden cabins. Unluckily, the cabins were under renovation and couldn’t be used. There were also small cement houses right in front of the beach. We would recommend them, if the wooden cabins aren’t available. Horses walk freely in the park of the hotel, which makes for a really picturesque scenery. Cats are everywhere!!
