Residence Inn Marina del Rey

Good location. View from hotel is great. Do note there is a destination fee of USD10 per accomodation per night. This is excluded from the hotel accommodation which have to be paid.

Due to issues at my home, I stayed here for an extended period of time and want to commend the staff on their friendliness and service. Every staff member greeted with a smile. I had some minor quibbles with the room (shower water pressure and bed pillows) but this facility provided a very nice place to stay when I needed it.

Well, where do I start? First of all, I have been staying here at the Residence Inn by Marriott Marina del Rey for 9 weeks already. My truck has been scratched on the bumper and the wheel. I talked to the manager, and management stated that valet is a third party and not their responsibility. I then talked to the valet manager, made a report, and was told they were going to check their 5,000 cameras and get back to me. Three weeks later, my claim was denied. This is the worst experience, especially since I am paying for valet even though I am handicapped. Valet uses shady parking lots to make money. Here’s another issue: I came to my room with my wife only to find the door open and some expensive items missing, including my wife’s new LV purse, an expensive gold bracelet with charms, another bracelet, some diamond earrings, a diamond necklace, and other items. Oh, and a Nintendo Switch. Overall, someone stole a very good amount of expensive items from my room. This is the reason I paid more—not just for the location but for the peace of mind regarding my vehicle and my belongings, especially in LA. I travel around the world, and I’ve never had a problem like this. This is so disappointing. I won’t tell you how to spend your money, but I would strongly advise against bringing expensive items and leaving them in your room because they will take them, and they will leave your room open and tell you they don’t have any security Camaras.

I love Residence Inn, and I look for it every time I travel. Pros: This one in particular had great views of the marina, comfortable, clean, spacious rooms, and nice, helpful staff. I was travelling for business so it was nice to have a good desk space and comfortable chair. Cons: Valet parking is mandatory, and pretty expensive. Also there was an "accidental" fire alarm at 6:30 AM on a Saturday that was not fun to wake up to. Overall a great stay.
