Travelled 250 miles for a family wedding, beds are uncomfortable, the noise was ridiculous from the karaoke, kids runnung around upstairs, over priced and when not used because of the issues takes months to get a refund, no one there to complain to being giving the keys back. Did stay left and booked into a premier in 20 minutes away. Don't waste your time. No a well run business at all.

You won't do any trade, with cold food, and a cold pub, no heating on at all, on a very cold day.I know its very difficult today, to be successful with a pub selling food, , but customers wont except, cold food and a cold room, hope this criticism helps you, get to where you want to be.

Dreadful so please do not book. There is nothing good to say about this hotel. The rooms are very neglected and nothing seems to work. Door locks broken, lights not working, sash windows propped open with a cardboard box. The hotel smells and the corridor area leading to the rooms was full of randomly dumped furniture. No breakfast available and a karoke on until midnight downstairs. I am sure there are lots more things wrong but we did not stay long enough to find out.

Hotel seems to be undergoing refurbishment downstairs so whilst I had paid for breakfast they were not able to provide it. They said they will refund but not as yet received it. I had large corner room which on first glance looked lovely. It was a very warm day and only a small sash window to open and no fan. Very busy road outside. Taking off the extra blanket I discovered the quilt cover hadn't been ironed. Whole place needs an upgrade really. Dust everywhere and bed not very comfortable. As previous people had mentioned noisy pubs nearby tho they did stop at 11.30pm. My room wasn't cleaned the first day. Town car Park only 5 mins away and you can buy a weekly ticket on the MIpermit app to save you having to put tickets on all the time. Can't fault hotel for location as right in the centre of the town. Lots of places to eat on the doorstep including presumably the hotel once its been refurbished.

Awful location - we were kept awake all night by people leaving bars/clubs, despite having ear plugs. We booked breakfast for 8:30am Sunday morning, with the man at the bar when we arrived. When we woke, there was not another soul in sight. No staff whatsoever around and we were locked in! We rang the phonelines, the front door "Ring" doorbell, no answer. We managed to find an exit to escape from and found our own breakfast elsewhere but on passing by again at 11am, there were still no staff. I'm apalled. A truly horrendous stay.

Well not sure where to start, when we checked in we were told about the karaoke, this was directly under our room, and the music was so loud we did not get to sleep until 1am. So was tired for a family wedding. Now on the room, bed was rock hard with springs popping out, sheets were covered in other people's hair, and did not fit the bed. there was a phone socket hanging off the wall very dangerous. No drinking water supplied. No shampoo or even hand soap. No loo roll. The towel rack and loo roll holder were hanging off the wall and the shelves above the loo was hanging off too. The shower was filthy and the tray and plughole full of hair. And the shower head was full of limescale. The towels had holes in and were not clean as they had visible skid marks on them!!!!! The sauces on the tables for breakfast were out of date. And we stayed two nights, second day came down for breakfast and the girl working was far too busy have a conversation on the phone, we waited over 35 minutes to be ignored so did not even get breakfast on the last day. Really not a nice experience and all for £90 per night.

The hotel was lovely. I booked the hotel for my elderly uncle who was travelling alone after a family wedding. We arrived the day before and took him along to familiarise him with where he was to be staying. He has no mobile phone and we were anxious as he isn't from the area and we wouldn't have any contact with him once we put him into the taxi. The lady Christine was extremely helpful and went out of her way to show him where his room would be and how to gain access when he arrived. She really took her time to explain everything to him, putting both him and us at ease. fantastic customer service and I'd definitely book there again. My uncle said the hotel had everything a hotel needed and was clean. Christine, can't thank you enough!

Arrived on the day of Christmas light switching on so was busy. You have to find a hidden pay and display car park nearby( reimbursed only once) then when booking in was told by staff that our room was going to be noisy as it was directly above the public bar which was having a disco that evening till midnight. Too late to cancel as prebooked. The bedroom had one window which you could not open. The en-suite bathroom had a shower with a rotten wooden base and black mould inside the extractor fan and sink light dud not work. There were cables sticking out if the walls and lying around the bedroom. We finally got to sleep just after 1 am due to a drunken customer arguing with the hotel door security which was sorted once police arrived and took him away in the back of police van. In the morning the cooked breakfast consisted of most being cooked in a deep fat fryer and Luke warm baked beans. It is a very old hotel but this is no excuse for sub standard conditions.

We booked a deluxe room for 4 nights. Sadly this was most certainly not what we would call a deluxe room. When we first viewed this hotel on line we were satisfied that we were getting good value for our money. How wrong we were....various issues, housekeeping was not available..explanation being that due to covid we would need to ask if we needed anything. We checked this service with other hotels and this was not the norm. The secondary glazing was hanging off the window, the toilet roll holder had obviously broken of the wall, leaving the damaged pieces on the wall. The replacement toilet roll holder was not secured and that too fell of, although my husband repaired this. Attached above the bed headboard was a 4 plug adapter and the connecting wire sellotaped to the wall. The bedside cabinet top drawer was coming off when opened and there were various holes in the skirting boards. Clearly this deluxe room was in need of some drastic repair. My description of this establishment is it is a pub with rooms. Very disappointed, we did not get what we paid for!!!
