Southend Hotel

Hotel is attached to an Irish pub attached to a shopping centre area, that has a Woolworths and some fast food outlets. It is only a short drive to Maroubra Beach. Parking is free and is part of the general precinct area. Check-in was efficient with all necessary instructions and information provided. Room was spacious and clean and nil issues. You do hear the patrons from the pub up until they close and move on. There was no live music playing on the night of my stay. Once patrons move on though the place is super quiet. If however you want an early night sleep, and are a light sleeper then maybe your quality of sleep will be affected. Would have liked to have used the pub as it looked nice, but due to early start the next morning I didn't . My stay was pleasant with no issues. Would stay here again if in the area.

Property's renovated, nice & clean The location's a bit of a walk from public transport. I couldn't get the aircon to work properly. Overall, a nice stay in this area

Rooms - clean and kept as such on the daily basis! Bathrooms - actually 5 stars, we were impressed! Stuff and cleaning service - amazing job! Location is superb! Short pleasant walk to the Maroubra beach. Metro groceries is next door. Food in the pub is great, or you can enjoy few other places next door as well. Overall great experience for the family of 5 for 12 days in Southend Hotel. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back to our trip to Sydney!

Much better than expected. The rooms are fantastic in size, very clean and newly renovated. It does not look like much from the outside and there are only stairs to reach the rooms but inside was very quiet and comfortable.

Rooms were all beautifully new and clean. An actual king bed when it said it had a king bed. Plenty of room for the kids. Attached to the most amazing Irish pub I’ve ever been to (in Australia). Pub was complete with a full Irish band to top it off. Highly recommend.

The hotel is really clean and it has sugar, coffee and tea the service is really good the best part was the beach is a short walk. There was also a kettle and fridge. But the sad thing it didn’t have a microwave or a hair dryer. Ther was also shopping centre down the bottom.

WOW - a real hidden gem and somewhat of a very pleasant surprise. Chose initially because of location and the recommendation of a friend. Was a bit confusing to find at first, but all worked out well and worth it! Felt like I was stepping back into a Dublin Pub - really warm and friendly welcome. Had a quick look at the wine store selection - blown away by the exceptional quality range and value for money prices being asked. BUT it was the room that held the greatest surprise - the old stairwell and hallway disguised what was behind closed doors - a large beautifully decorated room, fully renovated, best of all the curtains actually closed and blocked out the light. Was spotlessly clean too! Comfy bed. I will definitely be using this as my Sydney base from now on !!
