I recently stayed at this hotel and had a disappointing experience with the front desk staff, specifically the two girls on duty during my check-in at 9 PM. Despite my reservation, I had to wait over 30 minutes for a room, which turned out to be different from the one I booked. Despite informing them of our anniversary, the staff's response was unhelpful. The initial room's view was changed without acknowledgment, and the alternative offered was worse. Only after speaking to the manager ( it's worth noting that the manager I spoke to was exceptionally friendly and understanding) did we receive a better room, but it still wasn't the one we booked. The lack of consideration for our special occasion made it a frustrating experience overall.

Dirty cutlery, noisy location and poor service…. First problem, I was staying on the four floor, which was an issue as one lift was out of action and the other two lifts are unbelievably slow. The room was dark and even with the lights on difficult to see anything without the use of a torch. Thankfully my room was facing the pool as many colleagues who also had been staying complained of noise through the night from the road, obviously in rooms that had been facing the road. I still had an 8am wake up from the building site next door though. I only had breakfast at the hotel - but found the cutlery dirty and some cutlery had some sticky residue on them. Food was ok but far from the standard I had found in some of the local restaurants. At checkout I had a problem with the laundry bill, I was offered only a 5% discount on the laundry. I ended up paying in full after being threatened by the police for taking a photo of the invoice. Once in my taxi, back to the airport the taxi driver said there is always a problem with the hotel at checkout….clearly not an isolated case. The hotel did have some old charm but very much tainted by poor service, dirty cutlery and a noisy location. Avoid.

The staff were very attentive. The roof terrace was lovely, as were the rooms and the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was convenient and massive with a few options. We would recommend staying at this hotel and it was nice staying in the new town away from the Medina.

Recommended this Riad by our personal travel consultant who we trust implicitly. She didn't let us down! On arrival (tucked away from the hassle and bussle), we were greeted by Khalid and Sylvie. Mint tea was provided and welcomed after a 2 hour queue getting passed customs at the airport. Khalid gave us a lot of info and showed us around the Riad. It's beautiful, well kept and an experience in itself. The pool was closed from day 2-4 due to damage from a previous client but Sylvie kept us updated on its progress. Our 5 day trip certainly wasn't impacted by the closure. Rooms are as expected in an 18th century palace. We wanted an authentic experience and we got it. Tv didn't work but an engineer was called and it was corrected. Breakfast was good, the selection changed daily and set us up for the day, the sun terrace was lovely. We ate at the riad once and again couldn't fault the food. Boarding passes were printed for us, any questions or queries were dealt with. We would definitely come back to this amazing place. Thank you for a really fabulous stay and experience. We wish you all at the Riad the very best for the future.

I booke the Savoy due to its proximity to a business convention and because most other hotels were sold out. I was able to experience the suite and the regular room. The rooms are well sized and clean with all amenities (shampoo, gel etc) available. The breakfast has a good selection of local specialties and western items. Staff is overall friendly and aiming to do a good job. However, here is we’re the hotel (in my opinion) missed the mark of the 5 star experience. While I genuinely believe that staff is aiming to do a good job, I don’t think they are well trained. - I tried to get additional water by calling housekeeping on different occasions, it turned out impossible. No one was picking up. Upon calling the operator, still nothing happened - Getting my laundry done was a similar experience. I called the dedicated number for laundry service and no one picked up. Then I called the operator and explained the situation and was assured someone would come. Again - no show. - The remote control in my second room was broken. I tried to call housekeeping. To no avail. The guest relations manager called me because they confused two rooms and accidentally gave me a room that was clear intended for honeymooners (which I tried to explain to the gentleman who brought me to the room, but he insisted and showed me the paper from reception..) I explained to her that the remote was broken, she assured me someone would come, but no one ever did replace the remote control. - I tried to book a tour through the concierge. (In person). When I got to him, he asked me to sit down and told me he would give me a brochure. After 20min, he was helping other guests (who came after me) and I still sat there without a brochure. I ended up booking my tours online, which turned out perfect. There are however people who made the stay better. Ayu - from room service. A young gentleman who learned my coffee and organized soya milk. (I ordered my morning coffee because housekeeping would not leave any milk or powdered milk…) Rachid - one of the porters. I had forgotten my plug. The hotel send me a converter but didn’t have plugs. He gave me his personal plug until I bought one. The hotel is ok if the price is right. I think making it 5 star is a bit of a stretch given that personnel is not well trained.

Stayed here as part of an EasyJet package and wasn't sure exactly what to expect as it was our first time in Marrakech.. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and served mint tea, local pastries and water..........and some fuss from a local cat. The hotel was very clean, beautiful inside and cool in temperature given the heat outside. Our room was also clean, well presented if not a little basic. Obviously, you have to be mindful that hotel star ratings are different from the UK. During our week long stay all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The rooftop spaces are beautiful and you don't really notice any of the hustle and bustle below. The only note really is that people of a larger size or restricted mobility may struggle on the stairwells as they are pretty steep and narrow. Hold those banisters tight! In a nutshell, this riad is excellent, in a prime location and the staff........and cat's.........were friendly with impeccable service. This seemed to be the case throughout Marrakech as the people are so welcoming.

Firstly, great clean hotel. Especially entertainment manager Faza. Plus all staff, top notch! For example, we had the suite and found it had a faulty tap/washbasin. The maintenance repaired it within 10 minutes of reporting. Pool size ( adults) is big with lots of space (although we visited mid-Septmber). The pool bar drinks had a variety but they did keep running out of drinks in which could mean a 10 minute wait. Beer was ( in some cases) warm so ask for a bit of ice!). Don't use the bar inside - you pay for that even if you are half or full board. The food was a good variety (breakfast, lunch and main meal). It's not labeled but just ask - the staff are great. Trips into town are about 20 minutes and taxi fare (return) is about 200 dirams. Loads of places in town so plan in advance. HIsham ( customer relations) is great, so check with him. Rooms are cleaned daily, and are really clean. Housekeeping staff are really nice and helpful. Only one real gripe though. Checkout time is 12pm, and you can only have breakfast, NOT LUNCH. The All inclusive bands are taken at 12pm. You then pay extra for lunch, drinks etc. You get to use the amenities,( toilet, water, gym,) but that's it. The hotel need to change that policy, as we can't fathom why they do this. Other then that, we can't fault the place, and the wonderful staff.

GGuest UserAbsolutely beautiful Riad with the most amazing, attentive staff. From the initial booking of the Riad the staff were so helpful. Ishmail booked us a taxi from the airport and made us feel so welcome when we arrived giving us a tour of the Riad then offering us a mint tea and cookies on the terrace (with a beautiful rooftop pool with complementary towels). Ishmail then provided us with maps and showed us directions to the must see places - saadian tombs (few minutes walk) and the medina and souk are all within a short walk from the Riad. The interior design of the hotel is simply beautiful. The bedrooms are so relaxing and peaceful. We had a wonderful nights sleep and felt so welcome and looked after. We had a hammam at the riad (staff were again amazing). The breakfast (included) was delicious (fruit, yoghurt, juices, pancakes, bread, omelette, jams) and the menu served on the terrace was delicious. Thank you to Ishmail, Bashir, Mustapha, the hammam ladies and all the staff who made us so welcome at this beautiful Riad. We can't wait to come back again. ❤️ amazing ❤️

GGuest UserAs very seasoned travelers, my family and I enjoy exploring the most amazing resorts and hotels around the world, which we look at with a very discriminating eye. For the Oberoi Marrakesh, it is truly difficult to find fault. The hotel, relatively new, is simply stunning with the impressive lobby and villas, as well as expansive gardens with 2700 olive trees. The acting General Manager Mamdouh is the perfect and consummate hotelier, ever present checking everything non-stop, to ensure the guest experience is nothing less than 5-stars. Jalal from their F&B outlet surprised us with an entire loaf of lemon cake to take back to London that was not available on two breakfasts which we sore missed after our first breakfast. El Habib is an amazing server ready to grant you at least three wishes with his magic lamp! Khalid the Duty Manager also asks non-stop how they can improve a service that is already par excellence. Our hats off to the amazing pastry chef who makes baked goods that rival the best Parisian patisserie. I saw the two staff who cleaned every machine in the fitness center using four sprays leaving neither dust nor germ —- they focus on the minutest detail. The whole team is just extremely well-trained and professional and very committed in their desire to exceed your expectations. The synchronization of their efforts, in the most natural and sincere manner, always with big smiles, translates to nothing less than less than a truly memorable experience. They know how to make you feel like Arab royalty! We will certainly be back!!! Thank you so much to all of you!!! Shukran! If you want that “palace in the middle of the oasis experience” in Marrakesh, you will not get it any better than at the Oberoi!

YYUEThis kind of price feels that this Amanlang has a false name. First, there are no snow-capped mountains to see. Second, the green environment is not as good as Mandarin Oriental. If you stay for one night at most, you don’t want to continue to stay. My personal experience is that Mandarin Oriental is much better.

GGuest UserThis place is particularly good, the Chinese do not lie to the Chinese! ! When checking in, there will be mint tea and snacks to eat. The place to live is also very clean and bright. The air conditioner is very warm. It is still hot when you feel it (except that the toilet is a bit cold). The yard is very nice, very suitable for taking pictures, breakfast is delicious. The most important thing is that the people here are very good. I don't know the wifi password, so I called the front desk. A very polite gentleman came to help me lose. We left late the next day so wanted to leave our luggage here, they immediately agreed, and put our pizza in the refrigerator! When we came to get it, Miss Sister also said take your time, you can stay for a while and then leave, so I fell asleep in the yard... I heard someone talking in my ear in a daze, and opened my eyes and found that the gentleman who helped me enter the password yesterday told me that I could enter the room next to no one. Take off your shoes and sleep well on the bed. In short, I highly recommend everyone to stay! ! !

IIlan ToledanoVery nice hotel. Very nice and spacious swimming pools. The rooftop pool is very nice, you feel like you're in the middle of the medina and at the same time it's very relaxing. The bottom pool is very large but there is quite a lot of noise in general. We had to be upgraded when we arrived, which was really nice. The service is very good, however the breakfast is of good quality but the choice is quite limited and that is what disappointed us the most. In short, a very good experience :)

GGuest UserWe checked in to our deluxe room, and it was a horrible stay. First off, the deluxe room building is the furthest building away from the hotel, and by the time we get to our room, the view from our balcony is of a construction site and parking lot. Our room had a particularly strong vinegar smell to it, and we asked to move rooms. We were told that every deluxe room was sold out and we would be able to move rooms the next day. Next day comes around and we didn’t hear from the hotel. Every call to guest services took at least 3-5 minutes until someone answered or called back. We also came back to our hotel room unlocked, and it seemed housekeeping didn’t truly close our door when they cleaned it. On our last night, the A/C didn’t seem to work. We called guest services and the lady I spoke to told me that it was turned off for the whole hotel. When asked why or when will it be turned back on, she abruptly interrupts me and says I’m transferring you to the front desk. I waited for at least 2 minutes on the phone before someone from the front desk to answer my call, and he informs me that someone will come check our A/C. We love staying at different hotels in different countries and had no issues with other hotels in Marrakech, however, our stay at Movenpick was very underwhelming and staff didn’t seem to care at all. This has been a very awful experience, and hope that the hotel management can make a much better experience and improvement for others.

GGuest UserBackground: stayed 3 nights over new year 22/23 with the family. Hotel is twinned with The Opera Plaza Hotel, but we stayed in the Red Hotel Section. The Good: friendly staff, clean rooms, good service and housekeeping, wonderful buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, Morocco’s style pancakes and bread made on demand, pool area is fabulous and you could easily spend hours there. Location was good with most tourist attractions a 5 to 10 min cab ride away. The venue has a bowling alley and a restaurant with international football shown every day, it is not rowdy and is a nice atmosphere to watch a match. Close to Menara Mall and some western fast food places. The not so good: the red hotel is a bit dated, carpets in common areas are a bit frayed and the room stayed in was very basic with uncomfortable pillows and facing the street was noisy. Overall: this is an upper 3 star / lower 4 star hotel. I would rate 7 out of 10. I think most people would be happy with a short stay at this hotel for a reasonable price. I have read some of the other reviews on trip advisor which can put you off but our experience was fine. I also note the comment about a new year event on another review, we were at the hotel at the same time (the red hotel part) but not invited to anything.

NNicola MWe arrived around 9.15pm on a Friday night, reception said to leave everything there and grab some food as restaurant closed in 15 mins. There was not much to eat as they were already packing away, but we could get something. PROS Quickly checked in and reception staff were lovely and we were taken to our rooms. We had a family suite, which was gorgeous. Large double bed and another room with 2 single beds, lovely air con, but no main lights in the bedrooms just lamps (which were beautiful. Lovely large bathroom. Pool was large and very nice, plenty of sunbeds and no 6am madness. There was 10 of us and we easily managed to get beds together after breakfast at 9.30am. Restaurant - food was lovely, amazing tagines for lunch and dinner, chips at lunch time and all sorts of pastas at dinner. Breakfast was very basic, but fresh omelettes and pastries. If you want bacon and sausages dont go to Morocco enjoy their cuisines. Staff were friendly, animation team were great, always going above and beyond and not too pushy. They just never stopped and in that heat I dont know how. They were AMAZING. Shuttle bus which fits 16 people on goes into town a number of times a day and picks you up. Slightly confusing, as you get dropped off in the middle of no where and have to walk to the square, so REMEMBER WHERE THEY LEAVE YOU as this is where you have to make your way back to, to get the bus home. Overall took about 25 mins. CONS Snack bar - hit and miss. some days you could get a burger other days just some pastries. Shop!!! BEWARE. They will rip you off. There is a man and lady working in there, if you see the lady she will overcharge you beyond belief. If you go when the man is there, he provides you with a reasonable charge. e.g. a packet of chips she told me was 100 dirham (around £10) I then went back when she wasnt there and the man charged me 40 dirham! Wasps - this is not the hotels fault but there are a lot of wasps around the pool. Throw your cups away after use. Bar at Night - so drinks stopped at 11pm, however from about 8pm there is only 1 bar to get drinks for the whole hotel. The Bar staff conveniently then go on breaks leaving 1 person working whilst you can see others standing in the room behind laughing. Huge queues which caused lots of arguments and angry customers in the evening. Middle of no where. You are not able to leave the hotel and go for a walk as there is nothing around at all. Overall it was lovely and these cons would not stop me booking here again.

GGuest UserPlease do not waste your money I’ll repeat please do not waste your money, me and my partner went to this hotel as our first holiday together and it was the worst holiday ever, the food was the same every day and very dry, okay I understand the food isn’t always everyone’s taste but it was like prison food very basic and bland. there were so many birds in the food area just flying around sitting everywhere pooping around the food bits that were uncovered also sitting on the plates rack and on tables was really unhygienic the staff were not helpful at all or friendly! The hotel rep kept pushing us to go to the old town in Morocco to experience it so we thought we would go and experience it as we like to experience new things and it was the worst time ever!! everybody just wants to rip you off, you get forced to buy stuff if you do not buy the stuff they need to get aggressive with you and they team up together not letting you out the shop until you buy something. If you just walk past and look at something and do not touch it they said you better buy it because he looked at it and all loads of people come from different corners and alleys and try to gang up on you.one man put a king cobra on my neck from behind with out my permission used it as a distraction whilst a dragged my mrs away in her shop after he took the snake off my neck he demanded money not just I tried to get to my mrs and they kept standing in front of me trying to stop me. I could hear the mrs saying no thank you repeatedly raising her voice saying no thanks the lady forced herself aggressively onto my mrs and put henna on her hand by squeezing her hand then demanding £100 for using her henna we said no and all the market locals came together trying to intimidate us I had £5 on me so I just gave that to get them away from us and it worked The tour guide man there says if you pay me and you will not get harassed. Don’t trust the tour guide As he is part of the scam he says follow me I’ll take you to a quiet area but take two in the heart of the market where is like a big maze and you can’t get out as all exits look the same and there’s so many alleyways in between a keepsake to shops where he’s got the links with the shop owners and basically fourth of you again to buy stuff and if you say no thanks they turn aggressive aggressive Overall the excursions from the hotel were pretty cool especially the quad biking in the desert that was great fun although we ended up in some random persons house where I an old lady served cold drinks I don’t know if that’s part of it at someone’s house in a village selling cold drinks was random but pretty cool as we saw some of the real home life of the locals that lived in the area Apart from that we stayed in our room pretty much the whole week after being by the pool there was no entertainment the food was real bad mostly boiled rice salad with some sort of meat in some watery sauce everyday so we lived on Burger King around corner every
