Wish we would of had more time to spend there—beautiful country and they had many sitting spots to enjoy —very hospitable and breakfast was amazing.

I saw mostly good reviews here and the bad one related to repayment of a canceled reservation. That’s not a fair assessment of the stay. The proprietor Roger is quite quirky. He had the rigid personality of a person from the Northeast who didn’t know how to adequately communicate in a slow, Southern get-away town. Our telephone conversations during the reservation process were terse and clipped. Others mentioned his wife- we did not see her during our stay. We had to schedule a “late” arrival of 9:00 pm for the first night, and I was given a warning that there would be a “complimentary fee” if I was later than 9pm. After arriving to retrieve keys, there was no curfew. The grounds were nice; other reviews have mentioned the picturesque property. If you like antiques, there are odds and ends around the house that I suppose are antiques and are for sale. We were there with a full house and parking was very tight. Breakfast: When we arrived, we marked on a sheet what we wanted for breakfast. We each chose quiche and sausage links. It is served *promptly* at 8. My husband and I were awake- reading news and hanging out in our room when we got a knock on the door at 8:31 with a barking order that “Breakfast was at 8:00!” We arrived to the empty kitchen with fresh berries. Two small sausage links and two small pieces of dried, reheated quiche that seemed a few days old. Perhaps it would have been fresher it we arrived at 8:00. We also had coffee and juice and were off for the day. Our room was in the basement and had two queen beds, one with box springs and the other one a rather hot memory foam. It was very clean with its own bathroom. I believe all of the upstairs rooms share a bathroom. The room we were in smelled of insecticide both nights, and when we arrived back on the second night, the entire basement smelled of insecticide. Bottom line… it was expensive at nearly $300 per night. If you are looking for hospitality and a fancy b&b, this is not it. If you just want a clean place to stay, it’s fine.

This was a girls weekend trip and the trip was great! Hosts were amazing and friendly with lots a great recommendations on local cuisine and outings. We rented the twin, unbeknownst to us it was technically a “shared” bath (noted on B&B website, but not **********) but it worked out as we were the only guests visiting. We had the entire lower level to ourselves. The home is full of antiques all for sale, except for the furniture. Lots of beautiful pieces if you’re into that. And the place is very clean no dust in sight despite all the antiques! The landscaping was amazing and beautifully cared for. The quiet and tranquil location will have you wishing you didn’t have to go home. Breakfasts were plentiful with plenty to choose from. Coffee was great! Cold beverages (soda and water) available to you 24/7. The location itself is up a very narrow, windy and curvy road. Watch out for the speeders that cross over the line in a curve. The only reason we are rating a 4 out of 5 (because 4.5 isn’t an option) stars: WiFi in our room was virtually non-existent, outside our closed bedroom it was perfect, the only mirrors were in the bathroom, would’ve liked one full length mirror in our room; and would’ve liked to have been forewarned about no shoes inside. (Instead of a beautiful robe for your convenience, would’ve preferred disposable booties or socks to wear around). All in all, it was perfect for a girls getaway! Don’t try to walk into town if you value your life! 😃 I believe we’ll be back in the future! Close enough to Asheville and yet far enough to get some quiet and beautiful scenery! About 20 minutes to the Hot Springs and 20 minutes to Asheville!

Rogers and Sandy were wonderful. Cute and cozy. Only thing we weren’t expecting was you cannot have food or drinks in your room except water. Otherwise everything was great!

This little B&B was great for a girls weekend get away. They rent out 4 rooms in their home and We were the only ones in the house for the 2 nights we were there that weekend. Roger (the owner) was extremely accommodating and gave some great recommendations for dinner and site seeing. Breakfast was homecooked each morning also. We will definitely be back.

The owner is very nice and communicated with us before arrival. We requested. Vegan breakfast and we got it, delicious oatmeal with add ons and good coffee. He also recommended places for us to have dinner in nearby Marshall, which turn out to be a nice little town with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options… great discovery for us!!! Impeccably clean bb, the only thing was that it was not clear from the website that we would not have a private bathroom. That was not the most comfortable thing, but we stayed one night only.
