Banda Lodge

My experience at Banda Lodge was extremely disappointing and far below acceptable hospitality standards. The service was unacceptably slow waiting over an hour for a simple breakfast order is inexcusable. What made matters worse was the attitude of one staff member, Daphine, who was rude, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in providing even basic customer service. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated in any professional setting. Even more concerning, the lodge felt completely understaffed and poorly managed. Despite us being among the only guests, there was virtually no staff presence, no follow-up, and no sense of care or responsibility toward guests. It created an uncomfortable and neglected atmosphere. This experience reflects serious issues in staff training, supervision, and overall management. I strongly urge management to take immediate corrective action including reviewing staff conduct, improving service efficiency, and ensuring adequate staffing because as it stands, the level of service is unacceptable. I would not recommend staying here until these issues are properly addressed.

We visited Banda lodge as a large group (30+ people) in relation to celebrating our wedding in Masaka. It is a nice place with small cozy huts with high ceiling. Unfortunately the service level was at a bare minimum. Some staff lived up to expectations while others seemed to have an attitude problem and we felt like we disturbed them when asking for simple things like ordering food/drinks or requesting for new towels. I repeatedly experienced that the staff forgot my order and had to be reminded. Our room was cleaned twice during our 5 day stay and the bed was made once. The breakfast was ok but not always served on time. The day of our wedding the breakfast was 30 min delayed which created a very stressful situation for our guests. We also experienced multiple times that when arriving at breakfast after 9 there almost wasn’t any food left (breakfast ends at 10). When we requested for more food, which is included in the price, we were told that it was finished. Since celebrating our wedding, some guests suggested the staff to do a little extra the morning after the wedding like folding towels in a heart shape, bringing breakfast to our room or writing a card and putting a flower in the room. They even showed them pictures for inspiration. The staff agreed to this but did nothing of the above. We also requested for a shared breakfast the day after the wedding where they would arrange the tables in a way that gave more of a group feeling. This also wasn’t done. Furthermore the make up artist who arrived the morning of the wedding to work on me had to sit outside for an hour because the guard wouldn’t let him in. Lastly the bar next to Banda lodge played very loud music every night until 2/3 am which made it hard to sleep. The place has potential but I wouldn’t return before they optimize their service.

I stayed at this hotel with my family after reading many positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. The breakfast service was poor. Breakfast was often served late, and the food was very limited and not enough for everyone in our group. When food ran out, it was not replenished, even if breakfast time was not over. We also experienced repeated issues with service. On several occasions, we ordered drinks that never arrived. When we went to ask, the staff told us they had forgotten our order, even though we were the only guests at the hotel at the time. One of the waiters, a short woman, had a very poor attitude, which made the experience uncomfortable. However, another staff member, a taller woman, was kind and helpful, and she was the only positive part of the service. Overall, the breakfast quality, portion sizes, and service did not meet expectations, especially given the reviews we had read beforehand.

Nice place with good food and friendly staff, well worth a stay. Good pool and quite ok breakfast. The dining room could do with a little addition of coziness although the wiew is quite nice.

Banda Lodge is good in the quality of the place. It is in good shape and the Banda's have a good living quality. The staff is there when someone ask for them. What has to get better with the staff is that the proactively behaviour needs to improve. Service needs good prediction of the customers needs so the customers feels cared. All in all a good stay.

A lovely quiet place with a nice vieuw from the restaurant up. Staff was very friendly and polite.We liked the Pool.
