Villa Bellatrix

Amazing views, very clean, great centralized location, villa exactly as pictured, words can not express our host Francesco. Francesco went above and beyond our needs. He is very responsive, not to mention a great human who cares about the guests' experience! I give Villa Bellatrix 5 out of 5, and I can't wait until my next visit!

It pains me greatly to not give this beautiful little villa a 5, but I always go by the experience. Firstly, Francesco was brilliant, picked us up from Sorrento Bus station, took us to villa and kindly ran us straight back down to Sorrento so I could see a football match. Can't thank him enough. He was also available on the phone anytime we needed info. Onto the location..........its a secluded, safe and simply mesmerising location, double gated and in the area of Priora. Now here's where I will try and be helpful.........the area of Priora is about a 10 min bus journey from Sorrento up a hill of winding roads, bus costs €1.40 a ticket, you can pay on bus but there is a tobbaco shop next to bus stop at villa where you can get tickets. Once you arrive at the stop next to villa, its about a 10 min walk up what I can only describe as a killer of a steep hill. If you are not able bodied, and don't have a car hired, I would not recommend. However, if you are unfit like me and my partner but like a walk, it is very manageable. But trust me when I say, it's a proper hill. The Villa itself was good, could have been cleaner in areas, but just a petty observation, as on the whole, it was very clean. We asked to go up to the deluxe apar**ent for 4 nights as the balcony has a hot tub and the view is simply breathtaking, waking up in the morning, opening the curtains to see what I can only describe as a view you will never forget. Couple of petty things again, we preferred the cheaper apar**ent as it seemed a bit better kept, some mould and a bit of a smell from the shower room in the deluxe, but again, was worth it for the view. Also the kettle never worked and the hoover was broke when we arrived, not that we are into hoovering on holiday............ As much as this review has addressed some issues, and I havnt been able to do 5 stars, I can honestly say, that as a base for the Amalfi Coast it is fantastic. But I would definitely recommend a car if you plan on travelling. Worth noting, the buses are super unreliable. But they do come. Taxis from sorrento to the villa is roughly €35. An 8 minute journey. Complete rip off but Francesco will advise you on arrival. Overall, loved our stay, will never forget the view (see pics), but would stay closer to Sorrento next time so we never have to tackle that hill again.
