Rarely do I find somewhere I would instantly return to, (and then do so again) as Palais Gentile. A gorgeous townhouse wonderfully and sensitively restored house with generous rooms, super comfortable beds, complimentary drinks (including some Local gin!) and a fantastic roof terrace upon which to eat breakfast and gaze out over the city of Matino. We loved it here as much for the helpfulness and enthusiasm of the hosts, Carolina and Aurelien, as for the place itself, and let’s not forget the wonderful breakfasts, Though it turns out you can can have too much of a good thing if my daily intake of pasticciotto was anything to go by. Carolina made bookings for us and all her suggestions were spot on.

Traveling with two kids (4 and 6 years old), we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Of course, the room itself was outstanding - every detail was considered, from the beautiful decorations to the wine bottle opener. The hotel is ideally located to visit beautiful beaches and lovely towns. The best thing though is the service. Carolina and Aurelien put their hearts and souls into this place, and it shows. Here are some of the things they did for us: -- They helped coordinate a driver for us when we first arrived -- and when our ferry came in an hour early, they helped us contact the driver and made sure we arrived safely at the hotel. -- They arranged our room perfectly, knowing two small kids were coming (and left them some souvenirs, as well) -- They made sure to greet us every morning at breakfast, and answer our naive questions about the region and what we should do that day. We feel like we got a great sense of the entire region based on their recommendations. They were so reliable and warm, and made us feel at home. That's the best part about this special place.

La vacanza che cerchi .. Luogo incantato in un vecchio palazzo al centro di Matino , paese rimasto così com’è, una chicca del Salento , niente a che vedere con Gallipoli ed il suo caos. Caroline una persona eccezionale, nonostante fosse in Francia, ha fatto si che la nostra vacanza fosse indimenticabile. Torneremo sicuramente. Un paradiso ♥️

Un luogo incantevole, nel centro storico di Matino. Camera curata con stile e fantasia nei minimi dettagli,dalle luci all'oggettistica. La terrazza del beb è qualcosa di unico, mi ha regalato dei tramonti davvero indimenticabili. Dieci e lode! Tutto perfetto. ＜3

Siamo appena andati via da Palais Gentile e non vediamo l'ora di tornarci. Carolina e Aureliano ci hanno accolto in modo impeccabile: dal primo momento ci siamo sentiti a casa. Le stanze sono bellissime, arredate con cura ed attenzione ai dettagli e i letti comodissimi. Una menzione particolare va alla colazione: un vero e proprio viaggio culinario, guidato dalla gentilissima signora Giorgia, tra i sapori salentini da gustare sulla splendida terrazza del Palais. La terrazza panoramica, infatti, è attrezzata con tavoli e una zona relax dove abbiamo potuto fare diversi aperitivi ammirando i tramonti salentini gustando i vini (rigorosamente locali) disponibili nella cantina del Palais. I gestori ci hanno poi suggerito un delizioso cocktail bar a due passi dalla struttura, dove siamo stati subito accolti a braccia aperte. Insomma, se decidete di andare in Salento, Matino e il suo Palais Gentile sono la scelta giusta!

Amazing boutique hotel. Beautiful suite with everything possible provided to make our stay comfortable. The hosts could not have done more. The decor is fabulous, the roof terrace a beautiful oasis and the breakfast was excellent. The concierge support was so helpful and meant we could travel around safe in the knowledge we were seeing the best places and visiting the best restaurants the area has to offer. Eating in the restaurant next door was the icing on the cake - we went twice!!

Palais Gentile è il posto perfetto se si vuole visitare il Salento con tutte le sue bellezze. Si trova in una posizione davvero strategica, a un’ora dall’aeroporto di Brindisi e a 20 minuti dalle spiagge migliori del Salento. Carolina e Aurelien sono delle persone splendide, pronte a proporti varie alternative per la tua giornata. Il palais ha una terrazza incredibile dove poter gustare un aperitivo ammirando dei tramonti sublimi. Per non parlare della colazione a base di pasticciotti, friselle e altre prelibatezze della zona. Sicuramente da tornarci e farlo diventare una tradizione.

Palais gentile non è solo un alloggio ma una vera e propria esperienza. Location incredibile, palazzo d'epoca ristrutturato con grande attenzione ai dettagli. Carolina e Aurelien accolgono gli ospiti come se fossero parte di una famiglia e li coccolano per tutta la durata del soggiorno. Colazione superlativa: dai pasticciotti alle friselle, tutto di ottima qualità. Posizione strategica per visitare le bellezze della Puglia. A disposizione degli ospiti, inoltre, una terrazza panoramica dove ammirare tramonti mozzafiato facendo aperitivi a base dell'ottima selezione di vini e taralli disponibili al palais. Torneremo sicuramente (e per molti più giorni).. Au bien tôt!

Le Palais Gentile porte bien son nom. Les propriétaires, Carolina et Aurelien, ont mis leur cœur, leur passion, leur gentillesse, leur goût et savoir-faire dans la rénovation de ce palazzo authentique, pour en faire un hébergement de charme ! Tout en simplicité et gentillesse, ils nous ont accueilli dans leur palazzo élégamment décoré et aménagé, avec des artisans locaux notamment. Le roof-top est une oasis dans la ville, à côté de la chiesa du village. Vues et atmosphère extra, pour les petits déjeuners aussi bien que pour le coucher de soleil. Les chambres sont belles et confortables, literie au top ! Merci pour ce séjour voluptueux et authentique. A presto !
