Although the facilities are old, they are within the expected range given the price and location, and best of all, I was able to enjoy Kamikochi without wasting time as it was right next to the bus terminal. The uncle and aunt were very kind and left a good impression on me!
The only hot springs that have free-flowing water are for those who are connoisseurs, and are fine if you just want to soak to warm up your body, but those who want to thoroughly wash their bodies may be better off going to another day trip bath. The bathtub feels good.

A great place to stay to get an early start for Kamikochi. Near the Sawando bus terminal. Budget comfy guesthouse with a nice onsen open 24/7 which is highly unusual. The people who run this place are very pleasant and friendly. You can buy dinner sukiyaki very reasonable price and breakfast if you want. There’s not much else in Sawando though there’s a ramen place Higuchi where you can get breakfast and lunch. There’s no other shops. A couple of onsen. It’s a quiet relaxing place to stay.

Owner was very kind and prepared very good dinner even we requested in very late time.
It is Japanese style room, so if you are not used to futon it might be hard.
Room is very spacious and confortable.
Shower is in common place, next to onsen.
It is also convenient that there is also an small *****tore to buy some snacks or drinks
