I have to say Matsumoto is my favorite little city, with so much good food and fun, and many creative designer shops. I feel like I could never stop exploring. I could city walk forever; I love every single street! 😍

This was our third stay, and I truly believe it's the best hotel in Matsumoto. On the day we checked in, it happened to be my son's birthday, and the lounge staff gave him a lovely surprise. We will definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Matsumoto.

The lobby is grand, and the decor is elegant and tasteful. The room was the largest of all seven Japanese hotels we stayed at during this trip. They helped bring our luggage to the room, and when we returned to the hotel at 9 PM, we even managed to buy discounted bread for 100 yen each at the front desk. The biggest surprise was at checkout: the staff proactively helped us with our luggage and drove us to Matsumoto Station for free! That was such a pleasant surprise. The service was incredibly friendly and polite. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is large and very modern. However, if you don't have your own car, the location is a bit far from Matsumoto Station, about an 800-meter walk. The beds are comfortable, and the breakfast buffet offers a wide variety. On the day we went to Kamikochi, we had to leave early, and the hotel prepared a delicious-looking sandwich box for us. If I go to Matsumoto again, I would definitely stay here.

In the second day of hotel, we planned out trip to the castle, shopping street, and the Japanese alps area. So we had breakfast early and went to the station to meet our guide. After coming back from the trip, we took taxi again to the hotel. When we booked our trip to the station from the hotel, we realized that the hotel provided frequent trips to and from the station. As we were tired, we went to onsen, which was provided by the hotel. It was a free service or included in the stay, I think. The onsen is located in another big hotel and the bus ride took 30 minutes. There were many people from many hotels going together to the onsen hotel. The onsen was pretty big, two indoor pools and two outdoor pools. We enjoyed the warm water and relaxed. The bus brought us back to the hotel at 9 pm. The hotel gave new towels and other supplies in the door of our room as we didn’t have a cleaning service in the morning. Anyway, the hotel restaurant is good and the free shuttle bus service is exceptional as no reservation was necessary. I will visit this hotel again when we travel to Matsumoto next time.

Hotel is walkable to Matsumoto Castle. Nice ambience with good breakfast, many variety. Best part was it had complimentary tickets to use Hotel Shoho Matsumoto 美ヶ原温泉 翔峰 spa.

Location: Close to the city center, perfect for a stopover before heading to Kamikochi. It's about an 8-minute walk from both the train and bus stations. Service: The service was good. They helped me with my luggage and brought it up to my room. Amenities: The room was quite small, and overall felt a bit cramped.

I chose the Hotel Buena Vista for my stay in Matsumoto. It's a fairly large hotel with a beautiful lobby, and the view from the window was absolutely stunning. The only minor drawback was that there were so many guests in the morning that we had to queue for breakfast, which was a first for me.

Good value for money, nice environment.

The location is convenient and parking is easy. The service is warm and friendly, earning full marks for attitude. The facilities are a bit old, but that's to be expected from a hotel that has been open for many years. The breakfast tasted good, but the variety felt a bit limited.

The room was average, and the bathroom was quite cramped. Overall, it was pretty standard with no real highlights.

This awful hotel charges an early check-in fee, which isn't stated clearly on their official website or other booking sites – it's just something the front desk staff makes up on the spot. My room was cleaned early, and my luggage was already inside by 1 PM, yet I was told I'd have to pay extra just to enter the room myself. Never heard of such a thing.

Rooms are very outdated and need an urgent update. It’s convenient to stay for one night. Beds were comfortable.
