The hotel is very old especially in the room and onsen. I usually stay at dormmy inn (other places) but this is very old and does not clean.

It is close to Matsumoto Castle and Matsumoto Station, and there are plenty of restaurants. Although there are no bathtubs in the private rooms of the hotel, the hot springs on the 9th floor are clean.I appreciate that you can use them from check-in to check-out. It's also nice to be able to have local produce for breakfast. My sister's house is nearby and I will come back again when I visit Matsumoto City.

I was stranded in Matsumoto because I overestimated the travel time I had remaining to make the JR schedule. The Dormy at Matsumoto was perfect - the outdoor rooftop hot spring in the snow was one of my favorite experiences.
Breakfast ended at 9:30 so I missed it - usually I think breakfasts end at 10:30. But they had free Hersheys ice cream, Yakult, coffee, and more throughout the small Disneyland-hotel-Ryokan.

The public bath was small, but it also had a sauna, which was great. Ice cream and drinks after bathing, as well as ramen as a late-night snack, are standard at Dormy Inn, but the breakfast menu also had a wide variety and was delicious. The price was also reasonable.
