The building is quite old, and the room smells moldy. I could not get rid of the smell even with the air purifier at full power. The food was mostly mountain vegetables, and the sashimi was not very fresh. I think only elderly people would be happy to be served a hot pot of whitebait and mountain burdock. The room on the second floor has a parking lot view rather than a Matsushima view. I booked the inn because I could see Matsushima from the bath, but since it can be seen from the parking lot, I cannot enjoy the view while taking a bath. The food was not tasty at all, and it was old, but it cost more than 50,000 yen for two people.

I went here to celebrate my birthday. I was impressed by the kind and polite service, with photos being taken and people talking to me. The food was delicious and we had a wonderful time. I was impressed by the beautiful view of the stars from the observation bath. I would like to go here again.

Compared with those old-fashioned hot spring hotels, the facilities are average and the service is quite good. When I arrive, I will go to the art museum and even drive me there. I live on the 2nd floor, there is no bathroom in the room, it is not very convenient to go outside, but it is not a big problem. The hot spring on the roof is a selling point, but there is only one soup, so it becomes early men and late women or early women and late men. You can adjust it the next day, or watch the sunset or the sunrise. Also, there is no bath towel in the bathing place, so I have to take it from the room, which I find very inconvenient

I stayed here as a family to celebrate my parents' 80th and 77th birthdays. The whole family was pleased with the attentive care. I would like to return someday.

I had a 3 days / 2 night half board stay. We had a great room with a great view of Matsushima Bay. The room is large with a personal onsen in which we can soak our tired bodies as much and as long as possible. However, as this is a small hotel, the 3 public onsen is not crowded and you can spent alot of 'me' time enjoying the hot soak. Beside the good onsen, the food is super great as we had: - 9 course refined Japanese dinner with fresh sashimi and hot pot - 7 course refined Japanese breakfast that cannot be found in normal hotel. Did I not mention that the hotel is also a 5 mins beach walk to areas of attraction? Overall, this is a great hotel for food, onsen and to explore Matsushima.

Three families stayed in a room with an open-air hot spring each. The hotel seems to be based on Ubud in Bali, and the lobby and terrace have a slightly Balinese atmosphere. All three rooms we stayed in were made in a pure Japanese style. The rooms are very spacious and not cramped. The open-air hot spring bath is also great. However, since the washing area is outside, it may be difficult to wash your body on really cold days. The food is not amazing, but it is okay. The staff are uniformly kind and full of hospitality. This is my first time staying in Matsushima (I'm from Sendai, so I may have stayed there as a child), but I highly recommend this hotel in the Matsushima area.

The facilities are a bit old and poorly maintained (for example, the balcony sash in the room I stayed in felt like it was getting stuck instead of opening and closing smoothly), but the staff are really friendly and the scenery is fantastic. The rooftop observatory bath is smaller than expected and the facilities are not great, so I highly recommend a room with an open-air bath. I liked the breakfast more, but for dinner, there was some variation in satisfaction depending on the menu.

It was a wonderful excursion with a polite response from the pick-up before the stay to the send-off. Not only the facilities in the hotel but also the customer service was particularly good

We used a spacious two-room Japanese-style room with a cypress open-air bath and two meals. The view from the room was the best, and the courtyard healed the urban life. The entire facility was kept very clean and I was very impressed. The food was delicious and the quantity was satisfying for a 60-year-old and 58-year-old couple. The open-air bath in the room was clean and comfortable, the view was good, and the view bath on the 5th floor was very satisfying. What was disappointing was that the noise of the air conditioner and lossnay (ventilation) in the room was intense. It was a problem with the facilities, but I thought it was a waste because it was a high-quality room. One more point, the pillow is personally low, and I think I could have a good night's sleep if you could prepare an option. Aside from these two points, it was a one-night, two-day trip that was mostly satisfactory, and he said he would like to visit again to enjoy the snow-viewing open-air bath.
