The Gillen House B&B

From booking through to check-out, our experience at Gillen House was absolutely top-notch. Edward and Cynzia have lovingly created one of the most special places I've stayed -- and I've traveled all over the world and stayed in luxury five-star hotels, small bed and breakfasts and more. The rooms were beautifully decorated, snacks and drinks were complimentary, with an "honor bar" with wine and cocktails. The setting is gorgeous with plenty of outdoor spaces to sit and relax. Edward and Cynzia's hospitality was superb and we truly can't say enough good things about our visit. All I can say is that I hope I get to visit their little corner of the world again!!

We have booked several Bed and Breakfasts on our many journeys, but this was by far the BEST one we have ever stayed at!!! From the first phone call we made last July 2023 to our stay April 2024, we were VERY impressed with the hosts, Edward and Cynzia. They were great communicators, wonderful hosts and offered exceptional hospitality the entire time we were there. The grounds were immaculate, the house was full of their beautiful art (each piece had its own amazing story), and we were treated like kings and queens! They were always present, offering us drinks and made sure we were totally comfortable. The four guest rooms were WONDERFUL -very clean and up to date with great amenities- and each had their own bathroom. Edward is a phenomenal chef and our breakfasts were delicious. He even offered several choices for dinner (an extra option we highly recommend!) that were exceptional. We would LOVE to return someday and HIGHLY recommend that you book a stay here!

Kaytie and I had a great experience! Very welcoming and we just felt like we were at a house of our own! The art was so awesome and y’all done a great job designing it all! Breakfast was great, and the simple things needed were always readily available. We definitely will be back! Thanks again!

Our stay at The Gillen House Bed & Breakfast was most awesome this weekend. Edward and Cynzia are wonderful hosts and the staff (Waffles, Binks, Ms. Monday and Ricky Bobby) keep it cozy. This over 100 year old house was renovated with an attention to detail and Cynzia’s beautiful art adorns every room. Our breakfasts were deeeelish with an extra shout out for the French toast with homemade whipped cream. Mmmmmmm good. I highly recommend The Gillen house and give it 5 snaps in a “Z” formation. We will be back for sure.

Very quiet the drive from Athens isn’t far.

We went for the UGA game and found this B&B at a reasonable price and it was everything as described and so much more! Food was amazing, company was great and the hosts were very nice and personable and accommodating! We will definitely stay here again in future!!!

Edward and Cynzia were delightful hosts! Breakfast was yummy and the room was five star ! The added drinks and snacks were a nice plus! We were there for a football game and it was so nice to get away from the ************ in town and be at the peaceful b and b!

From the moment you pull up, you will notice impeccable grounds and southern charm. The front porch is wide, welcoming, and well-appointed. Inside you are greeted by wide hallways, great decor, and the highest standards of cleanliness. The ambiance from the porches to the beautiful music makes your stay special. The beds are comfortable, the sheets are fabulous, and the bathrooms are clean and new. The breakfast is fantastic, and the hosts are wonderful. They do have cats which I love but I promise you if you are not a cat person you will not know they are there there is no cat hair and the cats are not allowed in the bedrooms. I can't think of anything they can improve on.

Our stay was amazing! The owners are super friendly, and and always ready to help. I loved all the extras they had available to you, iPhone, and android, charging cords, etc. the things you forget when traveling. The location was beautiful! It was quiet also. The beds are very comfortable! We slept great! We will definitely be going back!
